Outside of the apartment, none of the common areas are air-conditioned, which makes for an uncomfortable experience. Speaking of air-conditioning, you cannot even set the temperature in your apartment; you are only in control whether your AC/heat is off or on, meaning the apartment is always too hot or too cold. But if you're too cold, you can always warm up by running up the stairs. The 23-story building only has two elevators that are slow as molasses and never available. Climb the stairs at your own risk -- they are as crumbly and shaky as this building's reputation. Despite advertising 24-hour doormen, they are AWOL most of the time and don't check IDs at the door, enabling anyone willing to come in. Renter beware. I hope more people write reviews of this building. Despite their attempts to rebrand the image, The Cole is as overpriced and underwhelming as The Electra.
