Management threatens tenants
January 11, 2018I've lived in this building for several years and have to say that living here has been okay considering the age of the building and the price is good for the area, but it's the management, Goldman Property Group, that makes it difficult to love my apartment. As renters we pay so much in Los Angeles in order to have the carefree lifestyle of not owning; that's the whole point of RENTING. So I'm sorry/not sorry management if the building is old and the pipes break, the drains get clogged up, the ...roof needed to be replaced, the building needed to be re-painted...etc. The management seems to get upset at the normal maintenance of their building and takes it out on their renters, increasing rent as much and as many times as they can. I've had my rent increased in the middle of the year because the roof had to be repaired. How is that supposed to be an issue that renters pay for? The whole point of renting is to have issues fixed as they happen without needing to pay for them. I wouldn't pay to fix a rental car - same logic applies. This building is also now involved in the Los Angeles "RecycLA" program where the city now has very strict guidelines on processing trash. When I looked into the RecycLA program they are only going after OWNERS of multi-family buildings, not renters. Goldman Property Group, however, sent everyone a letter stating that they will charge all of their tenants any fees incurred from this program due to improperly processed trash. Well sorry that is not my problem if the dumpsters are open access to a public street and anyone and everyone could walk by those dumpsters and throw whatever in them. Why would I have to pay for improperly processed trash? Ridiculous. I will pay my rent that is stated on my lease agreement and nothing more. This management group is just crooks.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
