In it for the Location!
September 28, 2015In Los Angeles, like most desired cities, it is rare to find an apartment that is both a good value and in the thick of a hot neighborhood. I was intent on finding a neighborhood that was walkable, had a community, had great restaurants, and somewhere to go jogging. Echo Park is the best for all of those factors. The lake is gorgeous and clean, the local restaurants and Lassens Grocery store are all super convenient. I can even walk to Dodgers Stadium and laugh at all of the backed up traffic ...coming out of the parking lot. The apartment itself is perfectly adequate, but leaves a lot to be desired. The appliances are all old, the kitchen plumbing fickle, and the noise pollution from other tenants' packs of uncared-for dogs every morning at 6am is definitely a ding on the tranquility factor. Luckily, I'm an adaptable guy and have grown to really like this rough-around-the-edges 2 bedroom apartment. The rent is steep for the unit itself, but worth it to be a ten minute walk from everything I could want and to be right near the 101.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
