  • Not worth the rent

    October 30, 2017
Did not enjoy my experience here. Here’s pros and cons. Pros 1.)Proximity 2.)Spacious apartment 3.)Assigned parking 4.)Lovely neighbors 5.)Nice little balcony Cons 1.)Landlord and Manager lied to me – When I first moved in I was told I had a brand-new AC unit. Cut to record high temperatures when my AC unit gave out. It would only intermittently blow cool air and the apartment was still 100*F at 10pm. I had to have the manager come look at it twice before she called the AC repairman. He took ...
one look at it, said it was broken, and that that model was discontinued 6 – 7 years ago. When he called the landlord, she actually argued that with him before she finally replaced it. 2.)Manager lives below and hears everything – I was asked not to shower too late, not to open my closet doors too much or too late, and to put my small fan on a table instead of the floor. 3.)Manager and landlord not on same page – I just received my security deposit back from the landlord who removed over $100 for one minor cleaning issue and then to shampoo the carpet. Before I moved out, the landlord had said to shampoo the carpet and to check with the manager about what needed to be cleaned. I asked the manager, she said I didn’t have to, and she gave me a checklist of everything I needed to do (shampooing the carpet was NOT included on that list). Needless to say, if one of them says it, just do it. 4.)The apartment gets HOT – There is only one AC unit in the living room that does not help to cool the back bedroom at all, and leaving the windows open is no help. Being on the top floor and having a very thin roof up above makes the place turn into an oven come late morning or midday. 5.)Shady things happen in the alley where your carport is – While I was there, we had two cases of arson, a shooting, and vagrants constantly dumpster diving. 6.)Minimal amenities – There is no dishwasher, no pool, no gated access and only ONE washer / dryer for the whole building. 7.)Be careful with work orders – Had to have a plumber come in to clear a clog some carrot peels got down the disposal. The plumber told the manager that all of the pipes needed to be replaced because they were really old. Two weeks later, I got a notice that my rent was being increased due to “maintenance and upkeep”. Added bonus, the manager would text me if she ever heard me using the disposal to see what I was doing. 8.) EXPENSIVE Hope this helps

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on scale of 1 (below average) and to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider needs as part of the school selection process.
