natural light, decent cross-breezes, and the bedroom has two windows so in summer I don't have to choose between installing the window A/C unit or having access to fresh air. Kitchen is a little small, but again, better than what you can get in other nearby buildings. So those are the wonderful things. However there are a few crucial negatives. There's only one laundry room with two washers and two dryers for the ENTIRE building (about 36 units). The refrigerator has been loud and the compressor sounds like it's on its last legs since I moved in, but the landlord ignored my requests to get it fixed or replaced. Management is decently responsive for small repairs like clogged drains, but bigger things are routinely ignored. I've also never had an apartment (even that one just half a mile away) with so many pest problems. There were mice when I moved in -- which, thankfully, the manager DID respond to and I haven't had mice since. I've had ants twice, and this year I've had roaches, and my requests for help are either ignored completely or I get blamed for "bringing them in" although I have no idea how I could do so, given that they were climbing up our water pipes and I'm on the top floor. I had to buy roach traps at my own expense and take care of it myself -- although this won't address where the roaches are coming from in the first place. So while there are many wonderful things about this place, the negatives are enough that I can't rate this higher than average.
