My first apartment
August 16, 2015I have never been on my own until recently this month when I decided to pursue what is most true to me by diving out of the nest into the world on my own here in California. I was born and raised in Ohio, and have no family or friends anywhere else. For the first time ever, I just moved into my own place. I was required to put down 2 month's worth of rent($2200) in advance, as well as another 2 month's worth of rent for a deposit. The area feels safe, is only 15 miles away from my workplace and a ...very short distance from many grocery stores and laundromats. I dislike that it is so far from any beaches. Not having a garage or assigned parking space can be a burden. I already have had issues multiple times with the kitchen sink clogging up and spewing mucky water back up, but it seems to be doing better now. I enjoy the large amount of storage space it has, but am not fond of certain doors and cabinets not closing properly. The hardwood and tile flooring is great. I am in the unit on the end, so there isn't really any trouble with noise from other units. I would rather there be central air than 2 window AC units. The windows seem to not close tightly enough to keep out the warmth. It is my first place, so I appreciate and enjoy it very much, but am not afraid to realize there are some flaws that I may be paying too much to have to tolerate.
