decent quiet affordable rent
August 31, 2015I have lived here for a long time and it`s not bad. Most of the time it is quiet, nearby is the hospital so you will hear ambulance sirens from time to time. It is close by shopping centers and public transportation. The units are spacious in comparison to other lower rent apartments. There is air conditioning and they also allow cats. Overall it`s a nice place.Review from Apartments.com
Bad Management
August 9, 2015I've lived here for three years. In that three years, my list of approximately 10 items from my move-in date (they were written on the contract!) has not been addressed; but for two things: a screen on my front window, which took threatening them with mediation, and weatherstripping around my front door (that I finally had done and deducted it from the rent). The manager for the complex (it's three or four buildings) just slaps things over the old stuff without properly repairing anything. My ...screens do not fit my windows, and have tears and holes in them. He insists that all repairs must be done by him. I had SDG&E come in and they offered to replace the refrigerator, AND my microwave. Because the management could "do the repairs themselves," they DECLINED the services offered through SDG&E. Who does that?! Last month they had people come through taking pictures of the insides of our apartments because the buildings are up for sale. They raised the rent $25.00 and I was told that they would most likely raise it from there ($850.00) to $1350/ month if it was sold. From what I understand, the apartments were sold, and we are all going to be given 60 days notice because they are going to tear them down. This apartment is directly located on a VERY busy road- there have been at least three serious accidents right outside my front door. The noise is horrific because of the apartments situated across the street, and also its wonderful location three blocks from a hospital. The ceilings have asbestos and all of the apartments are damp, all the time. There is not sufficient air flow to eliminate the dampness because the windows (that open) in the front are so small. The manager has had several complaints lodged against him, and I can see why. He has insisted that I answer my door even though I explained I was not dressed. He has violated my privacy by entering my apartment without permission, stalking past me to inspect what I was explaining to him. After I asked him for permission to park my bicycle in the back yard, he was looking at the bike, and laughing. When I asked him why he said he was surprised it was still there! Another time I was showing him that my bedroom window did not latch and when I mentioned I had dropped the window lock, he dropped to all fours and began searching UNDER MY BED. He is incredibly creepy! I just graduated from SDSU, so I don't have a job yet and it is terrifically bad timing to be kicked out. Please choose me and save me!!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
