  • Poor facilities, over-priced, decent location

    November 5, 2019
I've lived here for about a year and a half. On the positive side, this location is pretty solid, it's only about 5 minutes to get to I-5, there are loads of stores around, and it's easy for me to get to work up in Lynnwood while my partner is able to get to her job north of Seattle easily. It's also reasonably safe, the street is a mess and there isn't a lot of parking enforcement, so parking can be tough, but it's a generally quiet, nice place to live. The apartments themselves are ...
reasonably clean ours at least is laid out well enough. The grounds are a mess, though a huge part of this can be blamed on other tenants. The kids living in the complex are sweet and friendly, but they leave lots of toys strewn around the courtyard. The retention walls also have rocks removed all the time, and I'm worried that's going to lead to instability (though this is more likely due to vandalism from the high school students down the street, who litter on their way to and from lunch everyday). Worse than all of this is the massive piles of dog poop everywhere. I think we might be the only people in the entire complex that clean up after our dog. Everyone else seems to just release theirs to leave landmines for everyone else. The worst part though is the laundry facilities. I've never seen a complex struggle so much with maintaining working laundry. Between tenants vandalizing the coinboxes to inefficient and ineffective maintenance of the machines, whole laundry rooms being down is common. Given that there are only a couple on site, this is a problem. The newest solution is to use an app-based payment system for the washers and dryers. While I was initially excited to not need quarters, they of course jacked up the prices in a classic landlord move of passing cost on to tenants. The worst part of the whole thing is that no one from Garden Park would ever read this review and feel any concern for the people living here. It's just another North Seattle apartment complex with just another crappy set of landlords.

Garden park apartments may seem great for the first month of being there but as time progresses you will notice that the maintenance really hates their jobs. They think everyone here is whiny. It would not be that way if they would do their work properly. Over half the time when they do their job it just breaks apart within a day or two and when you call the maintenance hotline when and if you can get through to the answering machine it takes weeks before they come to try and fix the problem. ...
They never let you know when they are coming. They just knock on the door without any day advances. The management is a complete joke.. They don't even to their part at all. There is just to many problems to put out there. I would never recommend this place to even my worst enemies.

Worst place to live at.. Management is shady and the maintanence avoids people. Everything in the apartments needs a better fixing. Management treats the tenants like garbage and it shows through the condition of the apartments and the grounds.. Avoid at all costs!!!

Horrible place to live. The grounds look horrible and maintanence tend to avoid people. The line to call maintence is either always full or just hear a long buzzing sound. Avoid this place at all costs..

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on scale of 1 (below average) and to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider needs as part of the school selection process.
