  • Terrible Experience

    I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. It seems they do not care about their residents, only money. Do not let the nice finishes fool you; the apartment is still cheap, poorly constructed, with things breaking often. Communication is very poor. For example, when this complex was having multiple storage unit break-ins, they changed the keys to the storage units with no communication to the residents, so we were unaware and locked out for days. The only way we got a response (the ...
    email was ignored) was physically going into the office to get the “oh yeah we changed the keys, here is your new one.” This is one of many examples of poor communication. “The Sound” is an appropriate name for this community, as there is little to no insulation in between units, so you can hear everything. Working from home here was a nightmare because those on my virtual meeting could hear the neighbors’ dogs barking, running up and down the halls, music, etc. The running up and down halls comes the apartment physically shaking from the movement. I also had issues with smells traveling between apartments. I frequently smelled cigarette smoke, weed, and general cooking. So both sounds and smells and physical movement travels easily between apartment units. When receiving the apartment, it was given to us in an terrible state. The water reeked of sulphur so badly, you could smell it down the halls. They did come and fix these issues, but it took a few days before we could actually move in. When we moved out, we thoroughly cleaned the apartment, yet we were nickel and dimed for normal wear and tear. We did not even put one nail in the wall and the carpet did not have any spills/stains/burns/anything, yet we were charged for repainting and carpet cleaning. You will constantly hear dogs barking. Even if your windows and doors are closed, you will hear the dogs as if they are in the other room. The dog parks are tiny and do not have actual grass, and most of the time is full of dog poop. The Harper’s courtyard is frequently used as a dog park (one of the very few places outside with actual grass), so there is dog poop sometimes there too, not cleaned for days. Honestly there is unpicked up dog poop around the entire complex. There is also very little actual grass; mostly just rocks, mulch, and a hardy bush ground covering plant. There are much better places out there where the community cares about their residents. Steer clear and keep looking.
