Houston apartment living is a fun experience because you are surrounded by numerous eating and drinking options. You have numerous Italian restaurants, and several Irish pubs to frequent, but how many places can say they're both? One of the few that can is Birraporetti's, which serves the best in Italian food, with the light ambiance and drinking options of an Irish bar. Don't let that split make you think it's schizophrenic, this restaurant knows just where its heart lies, and its all about pleasing you the customer, giving you the best Italian food in the city. Right down the street from the theater district, there is no place better to grab a bite before the curtain goes up. The great mix of unique creations and Italian classics goes perfectly with a night of theater, dance or drama. Of course, you don't have to wait until there's a performance playing next door; Birraporetti's has delicious, hot food being served every night of week. Birraporetti's menu is a varied and exciting thing, filled with dishes classic and new, but all delicious. If you're looking for old-fashioned Italian, feel free to try their spaghetti, lasagna, fettuccine alfredo or cheese tortellini, or, if pasta's not your thing, try their chicken or eggplant parmigiana, or a selection of terrific grilled dishes. If seafood's more your speed, they've got plenty of grilled fish dishes, as well as pecan-crusted shrimp, shrimp diablo, and of course plenty of crab cakes. For those looking for something a bit different, try Straw and Hay Imperiale, a healthy pasta dish made with spinach and egg fettuccine tossed with eggs, and artichokes, or the Marco Polo, which combines capellini pasta with shrimp and grilled chicken tossed in a spicy Thai sauce. If you're spending a night at the theater, or if you're just hungry for some fresh Italian food, then Birraporetti's is your number one choice. It's a great place to go if you want an evening away from the apartment for a fun time and delicious food.
