bugs when the windows are open. Really, though, for the price I'm paying, I'm pretty satisfied and feel reasonably safe most of the time. However, I hate the other people who live there. Because it's gated and has an internal courtyard, there are tons of families with kids who live there, and the parents let the kids run loose pretty much everyday. This wouldn't be too bad, except the kids trash the place, literally. There is trash EVERYWHERE in the common space. The kids also broke a brand new fence installed, so the place looks even more run-down. Neighbors in the building and in adjacent buildings frequently play their music so loud that it feels like it's coming from the inside of my apartment. People somewhere on the block set off fireworks randomly throughout the year, and there are people who have dogs who bark nonstop. My adjacent neighbors frequently use the walkway behind our apartments to go to other people's apartments, and it's unnerving to have people walking through "my backyard". I'm used to living on busy streets, so noise doesn't generally bother me, but this place is too much. No one seems to care about keeping the space clean, and there's no sense of respect for others and the fact that it's not just them in the building. This was a planned one-year rental for me; any longer would be misery. However, if you have kids, are hard-of-hearing, or also like to play loud music for hours at a time, this might be a great place for you.
