conditioning or vents so it gets very hot/humid/stuffy. There are bugs and spiders everywhere. The carpet was disgusting when I moved in. It turned my feet black and I had to rent a carpet cleaner. My room had a brick wall inside that was disintegrating so I'd have to vacuum up red brick dust off the floor once a week. The windows are ancient, definitely not secure and probably not up to code. Speaking of building codes, it seemed like every other month or so I'd get a notice of entry for "preparation for a city inspection." One time someone went in, took all the clothes and boxes out of my closet, set them on my bed, and didn't put them back. My last gripe is that we had to pay rent with a check every month (first world problems). This is the only place I've ever lived that didn't have any automatic withdrawal or online payment methods. Despite all my complaints, it is cat friendly so that's a plus.
