if you're looking for a crappy student housing experience, this is for you
April 8, 2022I'll start with the good: The place is a really good size and has a lot of space in each apartment. lots of room, good closet space. It's also very close to campus, really only like a 6 minute walk. It also has AC which is great in the summer, and the in-building laundry is really convenient. Now for the bad: The place is gross. it's an old building which is understandable, but it needs a deep clean in a way that probably hasn't been done in decades and it feels grimy no matter how much we ...clean it ourselves. We can't even open the windows to air it out because there's so many bugs and other dirt in the window frame. The walls and ceilings are super thin, so I can hear my neighbors on other floors in their zoom calls. Everything in the kitchen is pretty old, and every time we’ve reported things like appliances to maintenance, they respond with ‘well I didn’t see it’ and don’t fix it, so you have to have photo evidence that something is wrong before reporting it. Parking is also ridiculous over here — there are only 5 or 6 spots for the building, and if you choose street parking, it is almost impossible to find a spot again if you go somewhere, especially during the day, as there is no residential parking nearby. Now Cabrio as a renting property is very average. We had serious issues with actually getting the right keys to our apartment on move in day - it took almost a week to get that sorted. They are really good at answering the phones (which has not been my experience with past property management) so I do appreciate that a lot. However, it took 6 whole weeks to get everything in our apartment fixed after we moved in, and it was very frustrating to live here during that time. We also did have an emergency earlier in the spring (carbon monoxide alarm was going off) and they didn’t notify any of the tenants until after the fact. All in all, my roommate chose this place because it was inexpensive and close but I also understand that they’re raising rent prices, so it won’t be as inexpensive for next year. Hopefully this info helps anyone looking to rent here.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on scale of 1 (below average) and to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider needs as part of the school selection process.
