May 4, 2018This building is own by Tilden Properties and it sucks. They harass the tenants. Money is everything for them making lives of families miserable in the process. It is the worst place I have ever lived.Property Manager Responded

Run as far as possible from this apartments
June 22, 2017Expensive, lots of construction going on, property filled by strangers. Management does not enforce rules on common areas. Often you see neighbors moving in and out. Not peaceful and quiet... marijuana smoking very common. AC unit only serves living room area, bedrooms keep hot while living is cold. Mouse, bedbugs....Property Manager Responded
February 20, 2018Thank you for sharing your experience at 1038 on Second. New management took over November 1, 2017. It is our highest priority to change the experience you have had here. Construction will done shortly but was very much necessary for safety reasons. At takeover we promptly installed bait stations around the property to address any mice problems and it seems to have corrected the issue quickly. Even though the AC units are in the living room, we just finished replacing the windows in every unit with dual pane windows for better insulation. The will for sure help not only in the summer but during the cold winter nights as well. Our community is smoke free and we have been strictly enforcing that rule as well as the rest of the provisions in the lease. If there is anything that needs attention in your home please don't hesitate to contact the office so we can take care of it.

New Management - Average Changes
July 31, 2015So I have lived at this apartment complex for almost 15 years, and been through many next door neighbors, and surrounding building changes. Recently, our complex was bought out by 1038 on 2nd three months ago. Already they are on their second property manager. They have raised our rent $500 since they took over, now they charge for parking spaces, utilities are not included in the rent, and now they charge for pets. They put up Notices to Enter our apartment all the time for what they call ..."check-ups" to see existing condition of the inside of our place. One of these "check-ups" was to spray the inside of our apartment for a potential bed bug scare that was going around the building. My roommate and I came home to find our apartment in total disarray. They threw mattresses and bedding off the bed, clothes strewn on the ground, chairs moved, etc. The entire apartment was a mess, and I have a couple cats that were terrified, and would not come out from under the bed. I would have secured them in the bathroom if I knew they were going to do all that! Overall not happy with this new company, and I am moving in a month. A bunch of residents, like myself who have been here for a long time, are leaving. This place is just not the same anymore.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
