We're renting our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath furnished home in Durango Hills from approximately 1/15/25 to 6/15/25 (up to 5 months). We're open to a shorter lease (for someone who only needs a place for a few months) or a slightly longer lease (for someone who needs a place through the summer). Please contact us if you have any questions after reading the info below, or if you'd like to schedule a time to see the house. Please DO NOT disturb current occupants by visiting unannounced. If you are interested in filling out an application after seeing the house, please let us know and we will forward you the online application. House description: - Nearly 2600 sq. ft. of living space plus detached garage with 1-2 parking spaces. - This home is unique architecturally, with a modern design that fits into its natural surroundings and a 3-level floorplan that is very open but provides privacy to all family members. - Lower level includes: Reading room/movie room (with dvd player, Roku, video projector, and projection screen), amazing views to the surrounding hills and forest, sliding glass doors leading to a covered patio, separate master bedroom with large walk-in closet, bathroom with shower, and laundry room. Stairs lead up to the... - Main level: This level includes the front door to the house, 3 other doors leading to 3 separate decks, an open kitchen / dining / living room area, a 2-story solarium with views; coat closet, half-bath; and a large 2nd bedroom with floor-to-ceiling closets and attached full bath. Stairs lead up to the... - Upper level: Home to a cozy, yet good-sized 3rd bedroom perfect for younger people, or a homeschool classroom, yoga studio, or home office. Additional amenities: - Fully furnished, including well-equipped kitchen for home chefs - 3 decks (totaling 753 sq. ft.) with views in all directions and outdoor tables, chairs, hammocks, etc - Tree house with zipline and tree swing - Games, books, etc. - Basketball hoop and paved play/parking area - Outdoor water feature and fire pit - Direct gas connection to a 1,000 gallon propane tank for your gas BBQ (so you never run out of propane) - Direct electrical connection on the covered patio for your hot tub (if you have your own or want to rent one while here) - Fitness and outdoor equipment (elliptical, recumbent bike, inversion table, snowshoes, skis, sleds, etc.) - Stays cool in the summer with large windows in every room allowing for gentle mountain breezes to circulate through the house - Stays warm in the winter with multiple sources of heat (3 propane-burning stoves, 1 wood-burning stove, and electric wall heaters and electric towel warmer in the bathrooms) - Friendly neighbors are close-by in case of emergency, but other houses are screened from house (so you have the privacy of out-of-town living without feeling isolated) - "Smart home" security features including lock and outdoor cameras - 2 separate internet lines to allow dedicated wi-fi network for distance learning, working at home, etc. - 3 acres of beautiful forested property with view of peaceful aspen meadow - Adjacent to US Forest trails (hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing right out your door) - 15 minute drive to east end of Durango (Bread, gas, etc), 20 minute drive to downtown Durango, 30 minute drive to Durango airport, 45 minute drive to regional destinations such as Lake Vallecito or Purgatory Ski Resort - The last 3 miles to/from the house is on a mountain gravel road. All-wheel drive or four-wheel drive is essential in the winter months, and snow tires are also recommended. Lease details: - Sewer provided at no charge (septic system). - All other utilities paid by tenant, averaging approx. $350/month depending on the season and number of occupants. - Pets negotiable with an additional TBD monthly rent for each pet depending on the pet. - Refundable security deposit equivalent to 1 month's rent. - Application requires 3 references, employment verification, credit check, and background check
