Great space in the perfect location
August 3, 2015This building -- one of the original 4 Chelsea Corners built along 7th Avenue in 1930 & 1931 by Henry Mandel -- provides solid construction, thick walls, friendly staff and the perfect location situated between 5 of Manhattan's best neighborhoods. 200 West 15th is located along 7th Avenue and within walking distance to all the great offerings in Chelsea, Flatiron District, MeatPacking District, Union Square, and the West Village. NY headquarters for Google and Twitter are around the corner, ...and Facebook a 15 minute walk east. The main entrance features vaulted ceilings and original tiles, featured in several NY Times articles over the years. The elevator is operated by staff, who while not doorman, do offer many of the same services: a friendly face welcoming guests, keeping strangers out, receiving deliveries and dispersing mail. While building staff are incredibly helpful, the management company is less visible. Apartments are well maintained but kitchen and bathroom appliances are only replaced if needed, and most upgrades occur between tenant changeover. Washers and dryers are available in the basement, as well as bike storage, albeit crowded.
