Safe, comfortable neighborhood
August 11, 2015My one bedroom apartment is in a pretty peaceful neighborhood. The building is very old, however, with "wonky" wiring. For the most part it's okay, but occasionally it'll just shutdown for 5 - 10 seconds, then come back up. It's annoying and frustrating, especially when I'm on the computer. The buzzer system for letting people into the hall hasn't worked for several years. It's not that big of a deal, since the lock doesn't work anyway. However, I do feel perfectly safe here. The kitchen is ...large, but poorly designed. There is a very limited amount of counter space, as well a limited amount of hanging storage for clothes. The neighbors a (in the building and outside) are pleasant and respectful. The landlords, although nice people, are not prone to fixing things right away. Things are "jerry-rigged" to make do, and not necessarily in a proper way. The rent is actually probably the "cheap" for the size of the apartment, but probably overpriced for what's delivered, sadly. It's not The Ritz, but it's not the gutter.
