I really enjoyed living here
March 9, 2018I really enjoyed living here. The building was always very quiet and well kept. The amenities were nice too between heated garage parking, saving money washing my car at my leisure inside and out, to having an exhaust fan & a kitchen disposal. The rent was inexpensive compared to the neighborhood and it is a great neighborhood. The couple maintenance requests I had while living here for 4.5 years were handled pretty quickly and I couldn’t have asked for a more caring landlord. I received my ...full deposit back within two weeks of moving out.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Bad maintenance
September 5, 2017I lived in this building for years and moved out recently due to the extreme lack of professional maintenance although I am not a picky person. If something breaks, chances are it won’t get fixed especially if it costs some money to do so. The girl who supervises the building will take a look at whatever you need fixed after you call her and get stood up several times. Many of the locks all around are broken and give you a hard time when you use your keys to get in. Some units, including the one ...I used to live in, have a busted thermostat that won’t sense the temperature in the unit allowing it to switch the heat valve On/Off according to the set temperature, so you have to bypass the valve and keep the heat on, which means you have to keep some windows open in the winter. The rent is way too high for the square-foot area of the units and the services provided. The shower was the worst I have ever seen when it comes to the temperature of the water. While you are taking a shower, it switches between hot and cold in an instant, which is very uncomfortable and might cause a shock. Again she will take a look at it and won’t offer any solutions although she is quite the talker. The garage door has been acting funny for years now with no clear plan to fix it. The kitchen is super tiny. Lastly and most frustratingly, this superintendent girl WILL take a big portion of your security deposit no matter how hard you clean before you leave the unit. Make sure you take photos before you move in and right after you are done moving all your stuff out. I left my unit much cleaner than I found it, and she still made up excuses to keep 70% of the security deposit. I am not the only one she did this with. In fact almost all of the tenants who moved out recently have faced this issue. The only pros are its proximity to UWM and North Ave, its low-noise levels, decent walk-in closet, and the existence of a hose in the basement if you want to wash your car.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Untrustworthy Landlord
September 19, 2016As a tenant in this apartment my boyfriend and I were quiet, clean and respectful. The landlord seemed nice at first, she lived just down the hall from us. I ended up moving out two weeks before the end of my lease because I received a promotion out of state and I payed for the remainder of my lease anyway. After my lease ended my landlord told me that my apartment was filthy and that it was left in horrible conditions. She told me she would be taking most of my security deposit to paint and ...clean the carpeting. However, I left the apartment cleaner than I found it. My boyfriend and I spent hours washing the floors, vacuuming the carpet, cleaning the toilet, sinks, and bathroom. She took $105 out of my deposit and mailed it back to me over a month after my lease had ended. Due to the fact that I moved out of state I cannot take her to court over this issue. Beware of this landlord because she will take a portion of your security deposit regardless of how much you clean. it is illegal in the City of Milwaukee to take any portion of the security deposit for normal cleaning.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
