3.75 stars: Quiet neighborhood and the perfect location
February 24, 2021The landlord is very sweet if not a bit hectic sometimes. His response for any ER is amazing & he is a hands on type for maintenance. Location-wise this building is perfect. The 103 bus route goes right in front of the sidewalk along Rowland w/ an outgoing bus stop in the car lot. The neighbors are friendly & Colonial Heights is gorgeous. The library branch & 2 parks are w/in walking distance. State route 62 runs 5 blocks n. of Rosewood. Inside is a HUGE L-room. There's 2 windows to bring ...in cheerful light either from the sunrise or sunset that bounces off the egg shell walls. Most units have newer carpet in the L-rooms. Enter the L-room w/ a coat closet 90 degrees behind the front door w/ a decent amount of storage. There's a wall-AC unit that cools the entire living room & parts of the bedrooms. The bedrooms are decent size. The larger corner bedroom gets a lot of light & has 2 windows in the 2 outside walls. It has 2 spacious closets. The smaller bedroom has a single window & another spacious closet. The B-room has an long counter w/ sink & 3 drawers, & a overhanging cupboard that provides even more storage. The tub is a standard apt sized tub & the floor is tiled. The dining room is a small square nook as you walk into the gallery kitchen. There is a very large pantry/utility room tucked behind the coat closet at the end of the counters. The double metal sink has decent counter space for a gallery w/ 3 sets of overhead cupboards and 2 bottom cupboards on either side; the stove & refrigerator side has 3 more overhead cupboards & 4 drawers between the appliances. The flooring is linoleum. There is a linen cupboard in the hallway tucked beside the bathroom. The apartment is all electric baseboard heating with standard sized electric stove. There are cable ports; Spectrum also has the landlord's permission to run new cable through the walls for new wiring. Direct TV dishes are also allowed to be installed & there are a few already on site. Do not recommend AT&T w/ the landline phone system in the walls & the cost AT&T charges to run new wiring is $$$$. The main building hallway has stairs to each level w/ 4 units per hallway & a shared foyer w/ mailboxes accessible w/ a mail key. There are carports but many tenants opt to park on the street-side curb parking along both 27th street & along Rowland. It's a pleasant place to live.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
