Peaceful, Pretty, Wee Bit Pricey
August 21, 2015A few blocks from Lake Calhoun and barely a two minute walk to Calhoun Square shopping center, this building feels very quiet despite the bustle surrounding it. The place was built in 1921 and has been family managed for a few generations, meaning that the landlord really cares about building upkeep---though doesn't always respond to smaller issues like clogged pipes. A cleaning service vacuums the hallways and stairwells once a week. The apartments themselves are quite beautiful, with original ...built-ins, wood floors, and high ceilings. It's spacious enough but still rather expensive, and a lot of what you pay for is location. I'd especially recommend it to young couples looking for a lively and safe area, as I imagine it'd be difficult for a young single to afford.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
