    • Don't move here

      August 3, 2017
No good things can come from moving in here. Super of the building is incredibly unprofessional, like taking 2 months to fix the lock on my mailbox and leaving it unsecured. Or taking a week to come to my apartment to figure out why my ceiling is leaking brown water. Or refusing to come and left me high and dry when my window collapsed in the middle of the night over my week old daughter's crib. Keep in mind his apartment was above ours, so I can hear him stomping around instead of his job all ...
day. There were also times that I had to call police to come to his apartment because of the noises. Sounded like someone being abused, slamming doors, stomping on my ceiling, and screaming. It would stop for a week then resume like clockwork. New management isn't much better. Trying to get in contact with them is almost impossible. We had no way of getting rent to them until they bang on my door in the middle of the day. We had to google them and hope we had the right address to send rent to some house in Brooklyn. Maybe it got better since I moved away. Maybe it didn't. I wouldn't take the gamble though.

    • What you pay for

      July 31, 2015
Renting this close to NY is great - you get a little bit of the city life, at your own discretion, and a beautiful cultural exchange. That being said, there are negatives from that proximity, especially impacting the rental market. Brokers run abound and charge insane prices for five minutes of their time. I turned to Terrace Gardens as a first time renter due to their lack of a broker and a special promotion halving the first months rent. Of course, however, you get what you pay for. While the ...
cost of entry was reasonable, the place itself was a pigsty. It was unkempt before I moved in, with faulty labor (and mold) hidden by a bad paint job. The windows are still not functioning, despite reaching out to the super and the llc multiple times. While signing the lease they made a million promises about what would be fixed, with none of them coming to fruition nearly a year later. If the surrounding areas were not broker bound I would have moved. Had the llc worked with me in fixing the windows, the new hole in my wall, and the broken doorknob lock ON THE FRONT DOOR, this review would have been more positive - the price is decent, area safe and great for transportation. However, their laziness and exceptional levels of callousness really taints my experience. I would only recommend this place to first time renters - it opens your eyes. But other than that. Stay. Far. Away

    details
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on scale of 1 (below average) and to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider needs as part of the school selection process.
