Renters Reviews and Ratings
Good mix of pros and cons, but generally good
September 22, 2015I moved into this apartment about 2 years ago, and I plan to stay for few more years until I move on with marriage or a new job at a different region. There are both pros and cons at this apartment but generally I believe my apartment is fairly enjoyable to live in. 1) Rent - Rent is pretty reasonable given that the rent in this area has been rising fairly quickly every year. I have been living in this area almost for my entire life and the rent hike has been insane for the past few years. 2) ...Location - The train is about 10 minutes walk from the apartment and usually takes about 20-25 minutes which is pretty convenient (for me). Also when I am running late, I can hop on the LIRR which is another plus I should say. Also it's very quiet at night and although I believe it is very safe, I have had split opinion from my friends who believe that believe it can be dangerous at times. But I believe that can apply anywhere since there are rowdy people anywhere you go if you walk around at 2,3AM in the morning. Also minutes walk away from Dunkin Donuts, 7-11, Rite Aid, and a supermarket. Most places will deliver here as well. 3) Parking - Despite the fact that Woodside is NOTORIOUS for lack of parking space, I find this apartment pretty accessible to parking. Most of the times I find parking on my block, and right in front of the door, and on my bad days I only have to walk a block down which is not too bad since its only about 2 minutes walk down from the apartment. I usually come home late so I part a block down but if you come home early, you will most likely find parking on the block with ease. 4) Management - While I find that the landlord is very frugal, and tries to avoid fixing some of the extra stuff (eg. insect mesh behind the window), the essential stuff are always fixed right away. The super at this apartment is a fantastic guy I have to say, keeps the apartment very clean at all times, and always available for the tenants. Certainly one of the hardest working guy I have ever seen and responds to your calls very promptly. Not only because he lives in the apartment because I have seen some supers that live in and do not respond to anything once their time is up for the day. Overall I believe this apartment is very convenient. Although the landlord can be a tough nugget at times, I think the general environment makes up for the flaws.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
