Security Issue & Outside People Use The Pool All The Time
September 2, 2024Especially at the weekends and holidays doors are always open for some reason. Many time people come from outside asked me where is the pool it is obvious they do not live here. There is no security, always tenants' cars are broken into and their belongings are stolen. My car was attempted to be broken twice in 2 years. Management do not do anything. And neighbors are incredibly noisy. Do not waste your money living there.Property Manager Responded

Great Place To Live
April 3, 2023I’ve been living at 5 west for 3 years and it’s pretty awesome. I have a renovated unit on the 4th floor- the grounds are always well kept. The pool is always clean, the coffee machine is always stocked… Most importantly great people who work at the office. Great neighbors too! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME--STAY AWAY
April 25, 2020I am only giving this place a 1 star review, because it is required. My husband and I originally signed a lease for 1 year. Our leasing consultant at the time, Brianna, was absolutely amazing and so welcoming. She was able to get us moved in with a too good to be true offer. However, we were shown one of the renovated and model units. When we moved in, we had a very basic and older unit that was not cleaned prior to us moving in. The previous tenant must have never bothered to vacuum, because we ...are still cleaning up after his animal. The faucets, cabinets and appliances are all stained and worn out. We submitted a very extensive move in inventory detailing everything and we never had any response from the maintenance to come out to fix the issues. It took the office almost 2 months to get us a valet trash can and they even tried charging us a fine for it! The reviews before us that state you cannot hear any surrounding neighbors and how peaceful this place is, is completely false. We have submitted numerous complaints to the office regarding neighbors not being respectful during the quiet hours (8AM-10PM). If its not the neighbors being loud and disrespectful, its the band of people surrounding the parking lots across the property blasting music and revving their engines during their car meets. The pest control is a joke, there are roaches and silver fish everywhere in the unit. Even after requesting pest control numerous times, they claim to have come out, but the pest problem remained the same. The property is very poor maintained, people throw garbage everywhere. The parking lot resembles a fast food lot with wrappers and cigarette butts everywhere. Nobody cleans up after their pet, when it rains, the waste travels down the sidewalks which emits a strong and very unpleasant odor. Do yourself a favor, stay away, no matter how enticing the move in specials are. Do not waste your money or your time!Property Manager Responded

Over 60 days after move out and no return deposit
September 16, 2019Over 60 days after I moved and I have not received my deposit back. I've called half a dozen times, left a forwarding address and been told I'm supposed to receive around $1,300 of my initial deposit. They refuse to call me back. Absolutely ridiculous.Review from Apartments.com
Absolutely LOVE 5West!
November 14, 2018My friend first moved into 5 West and I was initially skeptical about it. In less than a month of her moving in, I fell in love with the community, I went ahead and booked myself an apartment here! Both, me and my friend, have the largest two bedroom layout. The lake view from the balcony and bedrooms is stunning and makes you feel like you're on a vacation..so peaceful and calming! The apartment is very spacious, the layout is amazing, and you can't hear the residents above you! The staff is ...super friendly, responsive and make you feel very welcome. Certainly, one of the best apartments I have lived in. Even a walk around the community will make you feel relaxed after a long day at work! The community is very well maintained and the location is extremely convenient. Definitely, the best deal you can get for the price and location! Not Reccommended
August 2, 2018When this complex was new it was nice, however over the last several years it has deteriorated rapidly. They renovated the leasing office recently, but don't regularly maintain most of the property. Pay attention if you visit this complex - look at the balconies that have appliances, gas grills, moving boxes, car parts, etc. on them. Look at the lack of parking available for residents. See how many aggressive-breed dogs are in the complex. Look at the condition of the elevators, hallways, etc - ...you can see where people have let animals urinate on the walls, defecate on the floors. You can see where doors to storage units and electrical closets have been pried open by burglars. How many piles of trash in the hallways can you spot? The dog stations are probably out of bags, or they are broken and go without repair for months at a time. Don't let them just walk you to the model unit which is near the leasing office... Walk around the entire complex so you can see it all. Notice how many cars are illegally parked. There is even a moving company which runs out of the complex and always has a box truck parked somewhere, usually blocking 2-4 spots at a time. Even when you first drive into the complex the "Welcome to 5 West" sign is held together with duct tape, and has been for almost a year. The walls are paper thin. You WILL hear your neighbors. If you have a neighbor above you will hear every step they take. Vehicles have been broken into and vandalized. Onsite management and area "directors" are useless and do not regularly monitor the property. I have lived in this complex for 4 years and have never once seen a property manager out of the office surveying the property. I would strongly advise anyone considering this property to look elsewhere - there are several complexes within a short distance that are maintained to much higher standards but are within the same price range.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
the way they conduct business is horrible
May 7, 2018If you are considering moving into these apartments, DONT! Although they are visually pleasing, the walls are super thin, the management is not professional and to say the last not helpful at all. Maintenance takes forever to assist with issues. As i advised the managing office team i would be leaving a review on my recent experience through every channel possible, here It is. I recently have received a couple violation charges for trash being set out prior to designated times ( yes, an actual ...fee for this), and have paid them with no problem given my cleaning lady puts the trash out sometimes when i am not home. But this last fee i recieved i felt was unwarranted. I was on my way out to catch a flight, and had my luggage by my door, and the trash bag on the other side (outside my door). i was running late for my flight so i took the trash bag and put It back inside my house and figured i would just take It out when i return. Long and behold, when i return from my trip i have a fee posted to my door, attached with a picture of my trash that was literally left outside for 5 minutes. Because i still have the same trash bag inside i take a picture and bring It to the office. They refused to waive the fee, even though i have paid them multiple times with no issues when It was my doing. The office staff was very rude and yelled at me as i was walking out to tell me "I'm the manager and we aren't waiving this fee ". Now get this heres the kicker, as i was leaving i told them i would be leaving a review. i have now received a letter that they will not be letting me renew my lease and i must vacate the premises when my lease is over. Stay Away
June 12, 2016I've been here for 4 years and it is going downhill quickly. Not well maintain and not running well by newer management. Maintenance guys are great. Very friendly guys. Each time I go into the office they make me feel like I am bothering them and I feel rushed. I very rarely go to the office. If they answer my email, I wouldn't have to go to the office. When promised to get back, they don't then I would have to go to the office again to follow up on what I needed in the first place and I've even ...sent an email as a follow up and no reply. When I used to not have these kinds of issue ever. The old team would always reply to my email on the next day!!!! horrible customer service and parking sucks!!!
May 11, 2016I have lived here for almost 2 years and was happy until a new employee was added on called Daniel. He has no customer service and is rude. The staff is usually very good however, there is always one bad seed. The apartments are beautiful but that's about all the is good about this place. There is very poor making of the apartments with poor insulation. You can hear everything. Five West Community Rocks!!!
September 10, 2014We have lived here almost 3 years and couldn't be happier. The office staff are amazing. They make you feel welcome every time you walk in the office. I have never met friendlier staff. They are prompt on answering questions or helping with simple solutions. I say simple because we have never had any major issues. They are always finding ways to bring the residences together with ice cream socials and etc. Fun atmosphere! The maintenance crew is friendly and when an issue arises they are prompt ...on taking care of it....all with a smile. The grounds are clean and maintained. We have friendly neighbors and unlike most apartments you can't hear your neighbors every foot step.
