Amazing Floor-through 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment
August 18, 2015This building is an unbelievable find right in the heart of the East Village. First, the surrounding area - it's extremely close to numerous subway lines. The B and D are four blocks away on Houston and the 6 is 6 blocks away on Bleecker. One quick stop on the 6 brings you to Union Sq. and even more subway access. It's also right in the middle of in my opinion the best bar and restaurant scene in NYC. Whatever you are in the mood for, you can find within a few block walk. It is also directly ...above a very well stocked bodega which is extremely convenient for those quick items you need - as well as 4 blocks away from a Whole Foods on Houston. Second - the building itself. A 6 floor walk-up consisting of 6 floor-through apartments, it really is a rare building in the East Village. Each apartment has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Each bedroom can easily fit a queen bed along with a dresser and nightstand, the bathroom is larger than average, and the living room is huge. To give you an idea of the size, we have a couch, 2 large reclining chairs with an ottoman each, a large dining room table, a shuffle board table, and a full 8 foot bar - and STILL have tons of room. It really is a huge apartment. Third and finally - the management is excellent. They only own one building in NYC, so you are not dealing with the massive corporations that are so typical in NYC. If you have a problem they are extremely quick to fix it, and generally act proactively to PREVENT problems rather than just dealing with them as they arise. I have never seen so much as a bug in the apartment, let alone mice or cockroaches which so many apartments seem to have problems with. Rent is extremely reasonable for the sq. footage of the apartment and we have been here for two years and the yearly rent has only gone up $100 to reflect greater cost of maintenance. Again, very reasonable. If you can snag an apartment in this building - DO IT. I'll be extremely sad when I have to leave.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
