Cheap for 1st Time Renter, Now I Know Why
August 16, 2022I lived in the bottom floor unit for less than a year. The unit flooded each time it rained. The first time it happened, I called their "emergency maintenance" who didn't answer the phone after calling 5 times. I called the owner who was out of town and they had to reach out to the maintenance guy. By the time he showed up, my things were either out in the stairwell to avoid water damage or propped up on tubberware to keep it out of the two inches and rising of water coming in through the ...windows. I requested to break my lease without penalty after the 3rd flooding and moved out ASAP. I'm sure if you're in the upper units you're fine, but lower units are subject to flooding since the rain is directed into your window wells.
