Renters Reviews and Ratings
Abhorrently Managed
April 1, 2024A decently-modernized apartment complex in a nice part of town - but don't let your eyes fool you. This apartment complex is managed abhorrently. I see from these reviews that I am not the only one who experienced bizarre and absurd maintenance issues like broken sinks, poorly-installed doors and backsplashes and unresponsive and rude property managers. I have complained about dog waste and trash right outside of my backdoor persistently, and their response has always been to send scolding emails ...instructing people to clean up after their dogs instead of putting in place actual consequences. To their credit, they have cleaned up some of the trash and dog waste after I submitted complaints, but not all of it and their "solutions" did not yield any results. There are car breakins and mailroom thefts constantly and they have no security in place to prevent or deter it. If a stranger is able to get in from the street, they can walk right into where the packages are placed because there is no door to the mailroom! No cameras, no gates to the parking lots, nothing. Every process they have has been more unnecessarily inconvenient for their tenants than it has been successful in solving their tenants problems. And every time I have ever expressed a frustration or a complaint, their response has essentially been *shrug* followed by some excuse as to why they can't do more. I got locked out of my apartment over the weekend, and learned there is a $100 lockout fee in our leases. It seems unreasonable to me, but I signed the lease, so I said I would eat it. But I became furious when the maintenance employee who came to let me in told me that the only way I could pay the fee was either in cash or through CashApp directly to him, instead of just adding it to my account which is what every other self-respecting (and law-abiding!) business would do if they needed to bill a customer or client in order to pay their employee. Moreover, this employee refused to let me into my apartment until I provided proof of payment, which was not being delivered properly because of an issue on his end! When I called to complain, Mary, the property manager, rudely interrupted me (many times) and replied saying "that's just the way it is!" Be warned that the same office manages all of Wise Properties, and they all have the same absurdly-horrible reputation in Chattanooga. Do not rent here!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
