August 1, 2020A friend and I had rented from this apartment complex only about a year. Overall things were just fine living in the apartment and commuting to work or school. The apartment is in an expected condition for how old the building. All appliances functioned without any issue while we lived there. A garage parking spot is available for an extra monthly fee. All utilities are included besides electricity. The only big issue I had was when we first moved into the apartment the cleaning staff or ...contracting company is supposed to clean the apartment. Well, there was a very poor performance of cleaning when we moved in. I reached out to the managing staff and they wanted to specifically know what was “not” cleaned. I reviewed the dirt and debris I could see across the carpet in the living room, inside the cabinets, atop the refrigerator, and along the windowsills, to the say the least. I reviewed a few of these specific areas, and said the apartment doesn’t look like it was really cleaned. The cleaning staff did return to “clean” only the couple specific areas mentioned on the email. Not cleaning the entire apartment as it should have been cleaned. Knowing this, the same concept occurred when we moved out just a couple months ago. There was “more cleaning necessary” we were charged for on our checkout process. Even though I know we did a better cleaning job moving out compared to their staff when we moved into the apartment. Pros: 1. Cheaper. 2. One shared garage parking available for $60 a month. No heat. Manual open, close, and locking. 3. Conveniently close to many stores and major highways. 4. No issues with appliances. 5. Basically, all utilities included, except electric. We lived on the first floor, so our electric bill was very minimal. Cons: 1. Extra cleaning on move in. overpaid on cleaning while moving out. 2. Fairly thin walls, we could hear neighbors hear and there. Mostly if people were being louder. No noise complaints at night though. 3. Frequent aroma of “medicinal” marijuana in the hallway.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
