Not worth it, find somewhere else
July 29, 2022While the building is in a good location, everything else about living here is very underwhelming. The units are extremely overpriced for how small they are and most of them are very dark because the layout of the building blocks any natural sunlight from hitting the windows. There are also constantly homeless people right outside the building that harass you when you when you try to walk in or out. Finally, the management is good about fixing maintenance issues but when you move out, they make ...up fake damages so they don’t have to return your deposit. I expect that from sleazy landlords but was surprised a big company like Avalon was just as bad, scamming me out of my deposit when I cleaned the unit and left it in IDENTICAL condition as it was when I moved in a year prior. Please do yourself a favor and find another building, there are plenty of places much nicer, for a better price and better service in Santa MonicaRead MoreReview from Apartments.com

July 16, 2016PLEASE READ IF CONSIDERING: My wife and I thought that Avalon Bay in Santa Monica was the right fit for us. We filled out an application for a unit that "wasn't available yet" because Jamarr was giving us a "sneak preview". We ultimately found a place we liked better and moved in. A month later we were hit with a charge for $800 saying that we owed them money for the time they removed it from the market (even though it wasn't available yet supposedly). We never signed a lease, my wife never even ...applied. IT IS A SCAM. They will find a way to charge you money, even if you never sign a lease. Not worth it!
September 23, 2015Avalon Santa Monica on Main is clearly all about making a dollar with no consideration for current tenants. They relocate us while they do corporately sanctioned renovations to the unit so that they can force us out by raising our rent $1,000 a month ($4800 a month, really?!) and bringing in new tenants who don't know any better. Nothing for a lot
July 21, 2015For the price I pay you'd think I would live in a well maintained building - unfortunately they're busy renovating what doesn't need to be fixed to be able to charge future residents more while ignoring those who already live here. There's an elevator reserved especially for construction staff that we can't use while they use that AND the ones residents are allowed to use. We pay too much for this.Review from Apartments.com
