July 28, 2015Get rid of the flying buggs her and fix the constant leak problems I have here and the maintenance man who lives next door says he has this plumber guy he said this Saturday would be here Monday and yester day he then said the plumber guy would be here today Tuesday 7-28-2015.I have to go out and I do not want to be waiting here at Apartment #106 for him to show up.I want out of this apartment and find one closer to what I am familar with,in the south hills.Call the maintenance man Corry and tell ...him that I still have these water on the floor and the flying bug problems he said he doesnot know or want to do anything about, call the county health Department and tell them all the problems I have here at 566 Dawson Avenue.Apartment#106,Pittsburgh,Pa.15202.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Fantastic apartment, but only okay management
July 22, 2015My husband and I have been living in our 2 bedroom apartment at 529 Monroe Ave for just over a year now - we love it! It's the perfect amount of space for 2 adults and a baby, has gorgeous large windows in the living room and both bedrooms, and is in an absolutely adorable neighborhood. We like that there are storage lockers in the basement, as well as a laundry facility for residents to use. There is also off-street parking for residents, with one space for each bedroom. Rent is very affordable, ...especially given the location, and we couldn't have asked for a better first home. That being said, we've been less than impressed with the management. At first, any repairs that were needed were completed within 24 hours. However, we think that this was only done in an attempt to impress the new residents, as now it can take well over a week before we receive help - and that's with 2-3 phone calls to remind management that we need it! When we went to renew our lease this year, we had a horrible time getting ahold of the lease manager, Nicki, and it was a good six weeks before we finally heard back from her about our questions... and by the time she did get back to us, we'd already renewed our lease. Finally, we're not crazy about our neighbors. This is a non-smoking building, but most of our neighbors smoke anyway, so the smoke often wafts into our bathroom, which is obviously less than ideal, especially with a newborn. Our downstairs neighbors also fight frequently, at all hours of the night, which can get annoying. So, ultimately, while we love our apartment itself, there are definitely some aspects of it that are less than ideal. It's for this reason that we're hoping to buy a house when our lease is up next year - but if we had to rent again, this is a pretty good place to live, all things considered!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
