    • GREAT MOVE IN DAY

      August 22, 2024
I was able to get my keys so quickly this move in day and my unit was perfect especially for how affordable it is. The new management is doing so much better and are really turning Campus Lodge around for the better I have heard.

      August 22, 2023
Definitely happy I toured here. The staff did not make me feel like a number in comparison to my last community and made me feel like I had found a home to finish my studying. Thank you Jeff and Michael, you both did not get enough credit in my opinion!! Thank you for helping me find an apartment, but pairing me with friends who have the same interests!!!

    • Unbelievably awful management

      August 21, 2023
Hundreds of students and families, stood in line for hours and hours in the heat, waiting for access to apartments that were filthy or not even the correct apartments. Corporate wouldn't help the extremely undertrained and unsupported staff. Whoever is running this circus, needs to change jobs. Shame on Campus Lodge Corporate...because this is on them. Heads should be rolling in UpperMgt. Even local news was covering this fiasco. Communication from spring to now has been awful and ...
      dishonest.

    • Listen to the reviews and DO NOT LIVE HERE

      September 9, 2018
I lived at Columbia's Campus Lodge for a year and it was a year too long. When you sign the lease, you are paying for a whole years worth of rent, however, you can only live there for 11 months. They require you to pay the full amount of rent for your first month, but you can't move in until the middle of the month. I asked why, and they said its because they use that time and money to clean the apartments. I was okay with this, until I moved in... The apartment was disgusting. Our feet turned ...
black from walking on the floor, ALL of the bathroom drains were clogged with hair, there was dust EVERYWHERE. I don't believe that they brought cleaning supplies in at all. Our front door wouldn't even shut or lock correctly. We were four 18 year old girls. It took a week to get our door to even lock right. The rooms are TINY and you can hear everything through the thin doors. Our neighbors accused us of smoking and we get a notice on our door about consequences when it wasn't even us. The management doesn't care about anything but money. The shuttle system is WACK. They are never on time and are quick to leave you on campus with no transportation when they decide to shut the bus down. If there is even a small amount of snow, the bus will not run, but classes will.. so I hope you have another ride. My last months utilities were triple what they ever were and they give you this bill before the month had even ended... How did they determine that I would suddenly be using 3x the electricity that I have every other month? I don't know. I paid it anyways, thinking that would be the last that I would ever give to Campus Lodge. A few weeks later, I receive a bill for almost $200.00 in "cleaning and repair" charges. I am confused why I am paying $80.00 for "cleaning" When I had to pay that in my first months rent, which was never cleaned... so what are the new residents paying for that first month, if the previous resident is supposedly paying for cleaning? So many inconsistencies with this place. If you call to ask a question about a bill or money the front office acts like they have no idea whats going on and you will have to ask them 3 more times to even get any bullshit answer. Oh and one of my friends apartments got broken into and robbed and campus lodge never said a word to other residents... if it hadn't been my friend I would have never known. You can find somewhere better to live I PROMISE. The gym is nice but they definitely don't clean it so beware!

    • Dishonest - Beware

      July 8, 2018
Campus Lodge-Columbia is ran very dishonestly, consequently, by the corporation that manages it. They offered a best rent rate guarantee in late December to a certain number of people, I being one. It states that if a lower rate is advertised then one will be able to amend one's lease to the new rate. This was a huge deciding factor in my decision to renew. Now they are offering a rate that is almost $100 dollars per month cheaper after everything considered, and they tell me that I am NOT ...
eligible to receive this offer which claims in advertisement that it's "The Best Rate"... The paperwork they advertise to lead people to make a decision, is indescriptive and vague to the point where it really offers little whatsoever. Some things about living here are pretty decent, the amenities and the staff are nice, but honestly this growing distrust has turned me off of this place as a living option in the future. Unless money is not a concern, I would use caution if considering this as a place to live.

    • Don't live here

      May 7, 2018
I agree with the other poor reviews here. The property is not well-kept, the actual units are tiny, and the manager is very rude. My roommates and I had several months with outrageous utility bills (I'm talking over $700/month), despite the fact that we are very careful with heat and water usage. In the winter, we kept our apartment around 62 degrees (miserable), took short showers, and limited laundry to conserve water and electricity. We also live in a first-floor unit, which makes me think the ...
lack of insulation on the ground and in the walls allows cold to leak in. We brought the utility bills to the attention of the Campus Lodge manager, Leena, and she was very rude. She implied that we are just using too much energy, even after we described to her everything we do to save energy. During our talk, she interrupted us and didn't seem to listen to anything we said. She referred us to the money manager and did nothing further to help us. We are four girls who work and hardly have enough money to pay for school and rent, let alone almost $200 additional/month for utilities that we don't even take advantage of. Enough on that though, the rest of the property is horrible too. There are 3 treadmills, none of which work consistently. People have stolen hand weights from the gym, so don't count on those. You have to "check out" a barbell from the front desk, which means you can only lift when the lodge is open. There were giant potholes in the parking lot all winter, which just got fixed last week and are already sinking in again. The hot water in the apartments lasts about 15 minutes at a time. It smells like mold and weed all the time. The staff did nothing to address any noise complaints despite us leaving multiple about our neighbors playing instruments and being loud late at night. The shuttle breaks down several times a month, leaving me stranded on campus. Maintenance leaves a mess when they leave. Apartment "inspections" take weeks, even though they say they'll get them done in 3-4 days. Cars get broken into. The kitchens are tiny (having 4 people's food in the kitchen is impossible, I keep dry food in my room because there is no place for it in the kitchen). Rent may be cheap, but you should really consider paying an extra $50/month to live literally anywhere else.

    • Do Not Live Here

      August 8, 2017
Do not sign a lease for Campus Lodge. The apartments are disgusting when you move in, since they don't clean the rooms even between students moving in and out. Instead they just pocket the money they save by not cleaning the apartments and still charge the person who moved out before you. Staff and management are incompetent and don't care about the tenants at all. If you do end up living here, make sure you get a copy of everything you fill out with them so you can show them when the lose it ...
and try to screw you over.

    • False Advertising and Lease

      March 8, 2017
Campus Lodges' lease requires that residents pay for 12 monthly "installments", basically pay rent for 12 months, yet they require that residents move out before these 12 months are fully over, in fact, their move-in and move-out dates are on the 15th of August and July. This leaves a full month where the apartment is not occupied. However, they require tenants to pay for the full month of August and the full month of July without prorating the weeks in which they are not occupying the space. ...
Creating the situation where residents are paying an entire extra month of rent without being allowed to occupy their apartment. When confronted with this situation I was informed that they simply cannot prorate the weeks that residents do not live in the apartment because that is not how they "operate". And that rent is not based on dates it's based on the 12 installments, even though the move-in and move-out are strictly date based. They offered no further solution to my concern. Also, Campus Lodge makes claims and advertises that they include utilities in the rent costs. This is misleading. They previously included utilities in the rent, last year the $75 cap on utilities was more than enough to cover utilities and keep the apartment at a reasonable living temperature. This year however, the City of Columbia raised electricity costs and Campus Lodge switch utility companies (without notifying tenants) so now the average bill it upwards of $300 to barely heat the small apartment. Consequently, the $75 cap barely covers costs, and each month since the changes tenants have had to pay high overages for the outrageous bills. When confronted with this issue Campus Lodge directed all questions to the utilities company and were unable to answer any questions I had or explain how the bill was calculated. Later, they stated they were handling the situation and would notify residents when they had an update, this update came a few weeks later in the form of an email the day before the bill was due, stating that they would not be covering the costs and threatening that if we did not pay they would charge residents late fees.
