Come on down to get your car stolen
May 28, 2024My son's car was stolen from the lot in 2019, my tires were slashed in 2020 (twice) and my son's father's car was stolen recently. When many people complained about the theft and vandalism to each it was suggested that they rent a spot in the limited rental parking garage as if that would even be feasible if it were affordable. They refuse to hire a security company to simply drive around the parking lot looking for vandals and thieves who feel welcome and at home driving around the parking lot ...looking for cars to steal and abuse. I finally moved out because I can't afford anymore vehicular heartbreaks. DO NOT PUT YOURSELVES OR YOUR VEHICLES AT RISK.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Clocktower ..
January 15, 2022When myself & my sister first moved Clocktower it was very exciting, the exposed bricks & high ceilings were the big win for myself mainly, I’ve been here for about a year not too much to complain about living wise. Maintenance come in a timely manner depending on what the issue is we’re really only had minor issues. Now towards Leasing office the lack of communication sucks & that’s even if you email them, good luck even trying to get a call back. & even more of trying to go in person, they’ll ...literally have you sit & wait just to tell you the the person that needs to talk to you is too busy on the phone & will give you a call (as of now it’s been a month) ..Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Save yourself the headache
November 18, 2020Lived here for almost three years now and it’s been pretty clear that the owners care about nothing but lining their own pockets. They have been renovating and when I asked why they would choose to bring more people into the building during such a time to merely do cosmetic work the answer was because they are using historic tax credits! So again, money is clearly more important then your health. They changed out the doors to an electronic key card, the doors are as cheap as possible. They ...provide Absolutely no insulation from the hallway noise and could be kicked in by a child. They do not auto lock and Konover refuses to give me a second key even though they have given multiple keys to everyone else because they have an additional person on their lease! They still pay the same rent! In fact I pay more because they charge me an extra $40 a month for the dog. The dog that I am charged for monthly is the very reason I need an additional key because I have friends and family take care of him for me at times. But no, I should have to pay for an additional key for a door I neither wanted nor asked for. They have tacked on additional fees at their discretion whenever they feel like it. They added on a pool and gym fee mid way through my lease without asking permission. The place holds historic charm for sure but the lot is a disaster! I had my motorcycle stolen from it, cars are regularly vandalized or have their tires slashed and Konover still has not added lights or cameras throughout the entire lot. They do not care about you. They care about money.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Clocktower Mill
June 6, 2019The apartment is in an ok location and cool building. The parking situation is good and apartments are spacious. However, while the unit claims to have heating and AC, but it is _extremely_ ineffective and expensive (like, 200 a month). The walls are also very very thin, such that alarm clocks, music, tv, and even conversation carry through as though unimpeded. The pool and fitness center have been closed for almost the entire duration of my lease. In all, the rent is not low enough to ...compensate for these shortcomings, but the apartments are not bad enough to consider legal action. So 2 stars.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
If it sounds too good to be true...
September 25, 2017It is too good to be true. I would never recommend Clocktower Mill to anyone, not even my worst enemy as payback. Sure, the price is low, and when Jeff showed you the apartment it looked spacious and very nice for the price, and the other reviews on the building aren't THAT bad. (My roommates and I read the other reviews on here and decided that having to have your package delivered to work wasn't a big deal and we could live with the walls being thin because we aren't home that much anyways. As ...young professionals, those things didn't bother us and the price allowed us to have some extra spending money.) Here is why you SHOULD NOT live at Clocktower Mill (or really any Konover Property) Dana, the building manager, is the rudest and most unprofessional "manager" I have ever had to work with. I am still waiting for her to acknowledge receipt of the last email I sent her over two months ago. Jeff, will sell you on the room, then good luck trying to get him to return a call if anything goes wrong. The office hours make it just about impossible for you to get face-to-face with anyone (because, after all, they do expect you to have a job in order to live there) Konover will not give out an email address for you to contact them on (you know, for the times when your roof is leaking and Dana ignores you) This brings me to my last and most important reasons why you should not live here: THE ROOF LEAKS and the CEILING GROWS MOLD. (and when you ask Dana for help she sends the terrible maintenance crew that can't fix the issue, then tries to have you evicted) I strongly encourage that if you do accept that tour that Jeff (or Ashley) offers, you take a good look at the ceiling, and the walls before signing on the dotted line. And if they even dare to show you Clocktower 620, I would call the health department and runaway as fast as you can.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Looks nice on the first day but do not be fooled.
August 26, 2016Not only was my whole security deposit basically stolen upon moving out, despite cleaning the apartment. The maintenance crew takes at least 5-6 requests before they actually come to work on your apartment. They will charge you for any marks on an almost white carpet. The walls are super thin, so you hear everything. The leasing office does not care after you sign the lease (they can pretend). They have workers making loud noises early in the morning almost every other day. It smells like ...cigarette smoke in the hallways and sometimes weed. You might get an apartment right next to the garbage disposal. Your rent will increase every single time you renew your lease. The managers are basically crooks in my own opinion. Do not live here if you care about your health and privacy. Absolutely disappointed.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Only live here if you can't afford better...
September 14, 2015Could only stand to live in this place for so long. The walls are super thin, you can literally hear full conversations without any raised voices. The fire alarm seemingly always has issues and is frequently tested. In one week the alarm went off 3 times between 12am and 4am. The washing machines are small and it cost 1.75ea to wash and dry. The dumpsters are overflowing on a weekly basis and scavengers dig through the garbage on a daily basis making a bigger mess. Everything is electric ...including the heat and HW so be prepared to pay through the nose when you use heat or AC, because the windows are terrible unsealed so cold air just flows in during the winter. I had to wrap all of mine in plastic to help keep the place warm. The staff are your typical corporate robots that can do nothing except apologize and say its policy. Repairs sometimes take 2-3 request to actually get a person there... then YOU have to make sure they come back to complete jobs. Also be prepared for rent increases every time you renew!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
The Best For the Price
September 2, 2015I live in the Velvet Mills, but I've also lived in Clocktower Mills. The same company owns both, Clocktower Mills is definitely the lesser of the two, but it's also more economical. The reason I say clock tower is the lesser is only because yes, the walls are paper thin and the apts are closer together and less spacious. You get a swimming pool, you get the workout facility, the only problem is that it seems less managed then the Velvet Mills. The reason I say that is because there were times ...during the summer when their would be actual parties in the courtyard. Now that is illegal to have a party and a public place like that, but it would happen just about every weekend in the summer. They would end at a reasonable hour, but still, so much for peace and quiet. A lot of times people would have their kids run out to throw out the garbage and they with throw the garbage in the stairwell. It was a little more of a mess at Clocktower. If you're going to pay that type of money, you want a place where you feel comfortable. I never did. For an extra $100 you can live across the street (same company) in an apartment that has all those things and is gorgeous, more spacious and will give you your own garage parking. I hate to say this as a plus, but there's no Section 8 housing in Velvet and I believe they offer Section 8 in Clocktower. I'm sure of the fact that they offer it in the Dye House Mills also across the street.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
It'll Do
July 28, 2015The apartments are beautiful! The cons here are that the walls are paper thin, don't be surprised when you hear your friend next door fall into their afternoon nap! It was also frustrating to get things fixed with maintenance, they're either busy or "done for the day". The cathedral ceilings and brick are an artists dream. There's lots of history in the area as well as a variety of restaurants. For the price it'll do!Review from Apartments.com
Velvet Mill
August 28, 2015The mills are very unique, it's rare that you'll find the same floor plan in 2 apartments. The building is in a great location, restaurants, shopping, grocery stores are all within a 10 minute drive. There a plenty of schools is Manchester, and one elementary school within walking distance. A relatively quiet neighborhood with great people, the staff is awesome and always helpful when needed. I love living here!Review from Apartments.com
