Great Location not-so-great Maintenance
October 10, 2022Moved in last year. Five minutes from work, good value for the space. Neighbors are very nice. Immediately had issues with appliances. Dishwasher not bolted in, window leaked, dryer heat element inefficient, air conditioning condenser leaked. Following maintence, the window leaked less, the dishwasher was bolted in, and within months it didn’t work. The AC unit continues to leak and the dryer is a gamble if the clothes will be dry after 2 cycles. After multiple requests for repairs and poor ...response, it is time to move. Wish I moved here sooner
September 29, 2022Management is on point. Casey and Krishanne run a phenomenal complex. Clean, gated, thick walls, pool, gym, maintenance is awesome, affordable, garage options, huge field for pets, park trail runs through the middle of the grounds right next to a creek. I was planning on buying a house until I moved here... now I don't want to leave. Lucky I signed up! Don't hesitate, move here.Property Manager Responded

Lucky to live here
August 15, 2021I have lived here for over 4 years. Yesterday my garage door opener broke with my car in the garage. I called the office and the manager, Keith answered the phone. He said he would get someone right out. I was taking my granddaughter shopping. In less than 5 minutes Will was here and I was on my way. This is the kind of service I have come to expect. They don't always come right away, but when I need them they are there. Had a great time shopping with my granddaughter.Property Manager Responded

This is no place to live
July 28, 2021The paper thin walls, old construction, lack of updated appliances, and lived-in fixtures left much to be desired in my time renting here. Having a quiet living experience is not something you can achieve in these apartments. Whether it's loud neighbors, busy Metcalf 50 yards away, The lawn service which runs two days per week during the summer, or the trash collection which shows up at 7:00AM every other day, you will not find restful quiet. If you work from home then DO NOT consider this a ...place to set up home-base. Going with another internet provider besides the one they recommend also causes issues with management, and no matter what, you will pay a service charge for cable, even if you don't use their company and don't watch cable. Maintenance is constantly changing, so there's little to no accountability, and getting out of the lease was just as difficult as the living experience itself. Keep Looking
July 15, 2021Apartments are ok for the price, but be careful when renting to ask about neighbors. I had neighbors above me that would sleep all day then party all night. They also had a 100+ pound dog that would always run and cause trouble sleeping. Management very unresponsive and unwilling to help. Additionally, appliances are all Old and break constantly. Be prepared to constantly be waiting on repairs too.Property Manager Responded

Awful complex - unjustified charges
June 6, 2021Everything constantly broke in my apartment and did not get fixed in appropriate time - my refrigerator broke multiple times after maintenance had worked on it and all my food spoiled. Air conditioning was broken for weeks blowing hot air and request for rent adjustment for it was denied. Received over $350 in unjustified charges after move out, after I already paid an $80 cleaning fee at move out. Please be cautious of this complex, especially the manager, while living here and at move out if ...you decide on this complex. Not What It Appears To Be
January 22, 2020Hands down the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. Paper thin walls, noisy neighbors, I can hear cars all throughout the day and night driving through the apartment complex. Parking is horrid. The GATE has not worked since I moved here (6 months ago)... I don’t know why we pay extra for a gated community and it doesn’t work. They sent everyone a notice saying it would be fixed on said day, however it has not been. The next week we get another paper in our doors stating they would be raising Lock ...out fees from $30 to $60 due to “grounds maintenance”. (Yet still not closing fence. My kitchen floor has a small hole in it from previous residents and just so much more. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!Property Manager Responded

Mice/Insects/Spiders and not great service....
September 23, 2016We have been living at Deer Creek for around 9 months and have not had the best of service. The apartment complex itself is very nice, and it's a great area. However, our apartment has a serious mice problem as well as insects and spiders. The service is also not the best. There have been numerous occasions where we called for a service request with no response or update back. After calling multiple times, we were told they do not see a previous service request was ever submitted. In the last ...week alone, we have caught 3 mice with our own traps that we set. After a few complaints, the management sent a maintenance guy to put in 2 or 3 glue traps which has not done anything. We also had a pest control guy come and he said there are probably holes in the walls behind the counters/cabinets. The management did not follow up to let us know if they will actually do anything about it. Everything in our pantry has holes in it where the mice have clearly been chewing through stuff. We have an infant baby also so more action from management would be appreciated to resolve the issue. We also see many spiders and other insects in the apartment. We are thankful we are moving out of state and will no longer have to deal with the issue in a few weeks, but be wary of moving in.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Great apartments!
June 27, 2016I've had a great experience living at Deer Creek. It has been my favorite apartment complex to live in while i've been in Kansas City. The only reason I'm leaving is because I've been relocated to California for a job! I was supposed to move into another complex but when I arrived to move in the unit reeked of smoke! They gave me only two options which were to deal with it or don't move in. I had one day to find an apartment and I called around to a ton of properties in the area. When I got ...ahold of someone at Deer Creek they were so helpful and friendly and even started calling around to other properties through their management company to help me find a place. The service was so great that I decided to go with them even though they were a little out of my price range. I was so glad I made this decision. The staff has been so helpful with my transition and any time i've needed maintenance they have come by in a reasonable time span.
