  • Questionable security, so-so neighborhood

    The building is newer and the staff are friendly. These are pluses. The minuses outweigh, though. The neighborhood is questionable with many unhoused persons and drug-users around, creating messes on sidewalks and streets, and awkward encounters when trying to take a peaceful stroll. Parking is limited on the street and you have to pay $175-300 more to get a lot or parking garage spot. The loading zone in front of the building, which is supposed to stay open for deliveries, ride share ...
    pickups/dropoffs, and to unload the car temporarily, is constantly occupied by cars and the managers have never addressed the problem. I wish I could say the building interior is a diamond in the rough, apart from this outside, but that is not true. While the inside is newer, the building material is cheap making it easy to hear neighbors and vibrations from appliances. The HVAC air systems are also very loud, creating noisy apartment interiors when running the air conditioner or heater. The neighbor's unit can also be heard along the bedroom wall throughout the night when trying to sleep. Further, you can hear the speeding of performance cars and motorcycles roaring down 16th street throughout the day and night, often setting off car alarms because of their intensity. Even though the building is locked from the public, packages have been stolen from in front of my apartment door. This invites me to question the quality of my neighbors or the guests they invite. I've heard the same from other tenants about missing packages. The build-in blinds for every apartment do not block the sun in the bedroom or living room, inviting in a lot of light making it difficult to sleep. You have to install your own curtains to properly sleep. I expected a lot more from The Eleanor with it being a high-rent, newer building on the edge of Midtown Sacramento. The truth is they have a lot of work to do on the neighborhood and the building to make it a proper place to live for rent they charge. Even with move-in specials I'd recommend seeking a place elsewhere.
