Terrible!
August 19, 2022I was in a first-floor studio apartment for 3+ years. Pros: -Nice location near downtown Naperville. -Good walking paths/parks within walking distance of the apartment. Cons: - Noise from neighbors: Thin walls and floors; you hear people talking in other apartments, and blasting heavy bass music at all hours. Neighbors would open their balcony door all day, and it would shake the apartment, it made a lot of noise. - Tobacco smoke: I was in a smoking building, and I had a neighbor who loved to ...smoke near my windows for hours every day, that filled my apartment with his smoke. - Sewage gas: During the summer, sewer gas would come up from the drains in the utility closet, the washer/dryer drain, and it would stink up the apartment. Maintenance was never able to fully fix this issue. - Sewage Backup: The kitchen sink would often back up with smelly sewage, and a couple of times it overflowed on my counters. - Loud HVAC: It was so loud, I found myself turning it off, and just tolerating hotter or colder temps because it was so uncomfortably loud. I had to sleep with ear plugs, because of how loud it was. I can’t count how many times it woke me up, if one or both of the ear plugs fell out. - Water leak: I had an upstairs neighbor’s water heater break, and the water leaked into my utility closet and made water get into the hallway. -Rodent and bug infestation: Lots of Spiders, Silverfish, and a couple of mice. -Rude neighbors: When I asked my neighbor to stop smoking near my windows him and his wife insulted me and said he would smoke more. -Lights flickering: The lights flickered throughout the apartment for hours almost every day, and maintenance never were able to solve this issue. -Mold: Mushrooms were growing in the molding of my bathroom. Maintenance came out and sprayed it with some chemical to fix that issue.Property Manager Responded
