Don’t Be Fooled by The Lake – Stay Away!
June 10, 2021This apartment is unsafe, the exterior is dirty, and the area is so loud it may drive you insane. We moved here in 2020 after finding a gorgeous apartment facing Lake Merritt. It is spacious, with beautiful old hardwood floors and nicely remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. However, we find ourselves calling the police literally every single day. Bellevue Avenue is used by local drug dealers all day, as they sit in their cars blasting music in concert-grade loudspeakers or from their noisy cars. This ...often goes on past midnight, and Oakland PD does nothing to enforce it. There is trash everywhere, and every day people urinate and/or vomit all around the property and in the secure back parking spaces. We’re leaving less than a year into living here, which is incredibly unfortunate as the building and location are both so great. I don’t think I would stay here another year even if the rent were a dollar a month, and I desperately wish I knew this when I moved in.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
