Pretty Building, Poor Management
August 12, 2024I had mold in the roof for the entire length of my 1 year lease. The maintenance people are great but there are some jobs they cannot fulfill. Our washer reeked of mold and mildew and all maintenance did was put the washer to “Clean” and nothing else. Upon moving in our apartment was not cleaned. Pans from a previous tenant were still in the oven, floors were not buffed or cleaned and had black streaks across the floor, fast food trash was still behind the fridge and stove. Ceiling had a couple ...leaks around the apartment causing mold and yellow stained ceilings. The blinds were stained from paint and never fixed. I have moved out almost 2 months ago and management has been unresponsive about returning the security deposit.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Warning.
November 1, 2021Smelly apartments, poor management, poor maintenance. Disgusting upkeep, and dirty. And they will even charge you for normal wear and tear,(including light bulbs) when you move out. Prepare to loose your deposit.Review from Apartments.com
Highly do NOT recommend
August 6, 2020This building was horrible to live in. I have lived in many JC buildings and this is by far nothing I have experienced before. I choose not to share all specifics but trust that management is absolutely awful.. there were neighbor tenant issues dangerous to other tenants that the building would not do anything about, bug/fly issues for months and management and maintenance would respond after apprx weeks after issues. I would highly not ever recommendation this building NOR any under this ...company. They were absolutely awful.. I hope this saves somebody else from wasting their money there. I hope this beautiful building is bought by new owners !Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Beautiful building, ugly Managment
July 1, 2020I signed a 2 year lease for my beautiful loft and from the day of move in I had issues with the managements responses to communication, maintenance needs and general cleanliness/sanitation of the building. My issues were - fly infestation of entire building - HVAC system never serviced - requests for toilet repair, ceiling fan repair, blind repair & cleaning of black mold due to the condensation on the windows were never met - genera disregard by Managment and other tenants for health/safety & ...cleanliness - a broken unit door that was left unfixed for months compromising the safety of my family and property - inability to contact Managment even in emergency circumstances that resulted in needing to call emergency services for a problem that Managment could have most likely solved. - damages to the unit and appliances before I even moved into the brand new unit. Price is great, units themself are beautiful, roof and gym and bonus amenities that I do miss having now but overall I am so happy to no longer be living at Lafayette lofts.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Nice building doesn't deserve a non responsive management.
June 29, 2020Let me preface it with the fact that the structure of this building and our unit is spacious and there's a ton of natural light with the big windows. However, it's been a nightmare dealing with management. We've had to send at least 10 tickets to get our hot water properly fixed (it would work and then stop, over the course of 2 months). Every time being out of hot water for 12 hours at least until the super could come by. We've had water leak issues which took at least 3 times before properly ...fixed. Management has been irregular to respond and we're not the only ones in our building to deal with that. There's a great community in this building and we're active in communicating with each other. The common denominator though is the lack of accountability and responsiveness of management. It's being marketed as a luxury building but the way management takes care of it's tenants is below par. They've let perfectly good tenants (who loved their unit) walk and leave after years of living here because of a lack of handling of issues. It's a shame because it could be a great place to live.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
