Bedbug infestation
November 5, 2024I've rented here for 4 years and have LOVED and considered owning up until a year ago when our building became a breeding ground for bedbugs. One neighbor was falsey accused of starting the infestation, others unjustly charged for extermination costs after the fact, all of the while a neighbor potentially suffering from severe mental illness is harboring one of the worst infestations according to a rogue exterminator which has gone unmanaged for too long. Something like that doesn't start over ...night. The building managers absolute incompetence and failure to handle the situation has shown over the past fews months and I highly encourage anyone looking to rent or own here to RUN elsewhere until this gets resolved. The board of health is getting involved AGAIN and we will see if Linwood Coop steps up this time around. I will happily update my review until then. 400 Park is the building currently affected to my personal knowledge. I found a bedbug in my sink yesterday and worry I may be the next victim. It doesn't matter how clean your space is, these disturbingly resilient pests will find their way into your home.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Like School #3 around the corner, Linwood Park is the place to be!
August 28, 2020Linwood Park is a Very convenient and an affordable place to live! It is surrounded by trees and it is, in my opinion, the best section of Fort Lee. Quiet and park-like. I have found that in my building there is an on-going effort to keep the building and common space in good order. Community garden is awesome. I have found that the property is well maintained by the maintenance crew and the tenants. Shopping is very convenient. Linwood Plaza, which is right next door, has a Starbucks,CVS, ...Fed-X, HMart and UPS; plus a liquor store and Japanese restaurant.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
I would not recommend
August 10, 2020Linwood Park looks good on paper but it's not worth living here. The apartments are very old, there are so many bugs, & the maintenance office is useless. The older property is something you can get over especially with the (lower-ish) price but be very aware what you're signing up for. Unless the apartment states it's been explicitly renovated expect old flooring, bad paint jobs, old appliances, & structural flaws. There is no central AC, which wouldn't be such a problem but you have to pay to ...INSTALL the unit AND for the panels for an AC unit you purchase yourself. Maybe you'd be lucky to get an apt where they already have the AC installed, if not be ready to pay $200 on top of the unit. Also the laundry room is very unkept - the machines are old & only accepts coins. It's 2020, have a card option. The bugs here are uncontrollable. I have tried all sprays & found all visible holes but they still manage to get in here. This probably goes back to the age of the complex but it's been a really big nuisance, beyond the normal amount of bugs. I truly don't understand the point of the maintenance office. When I signed the lease, one of the selling points was that there was an office that always has spare keys, would help answer questions, & help tenants feel secure. I locked myself out once & I was told 'we don't have a spare key on file I think the realtor never returned it' & I was so confused because is it the tenants job to make sure the realtor returns the spare key? No next steps on it & they told me to 'call a locksmith'. Nice. There was recently a black out in the area & they sent an email stating the black-out & that they would be working with PSEG to get the power back on asap (this was really appreciated, great communication). But when I responded asking for an updated ETA the following day I was told 'contact PSEG.' Okay, that's fine then why not state that in the original email? Or state in the email that there will be no further updates outside of this ONE because they didn't even let tenants know that the power was back on. Just all around nonsense fees, policies & processes that make no sense and have no benefit to the tenant. This has been a horrible place to live. Whoever manages this complex doesn't care about making it better they only work to maintain what they have which gets worse year over year. I would not recommend anyone to rent or purchase property at Linwood. Be very very mindful when you decide to live here.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Worth the TLC
August 25, 2015This apartment complex is comfortable and secure. The building's residents are friendly and diverse, which creates a wholesome environment. Residents are quiet and keep to themselves. Complex maintenance requires a little TLC, but may be worth the investment for its convenient location. Located just off the George Washington bridge, you'll find Linwood Plaza, which has a bank, salon, grocery market, restaurants and more. It is within walking-distance, just minutes away from the complex location. ...On-site parking is available for a yearly fee, and in order to park on the street, you must have a sticker from the city. Prices of the complex vary depending on the landlord, and may range anywhere from $1,000-$2,000 on-average.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Open and Old
July 21, 2015This complex is comfortable, quiet and safe with neighbors that keep to themselves. The apartment's size is fit for multi-person living. Many areas of the space require small touch-ups that are fixable, but will require a small investment. It had been empty for years before the current renter occupied it.Review from Apartments.com
