May 2, 2023Honest Review from a 6 month resident and a few things you should know before moving: Can't argue about the location, about the best you can find in uptown Dallas being next to at least 10 restaurants/bars within a 5 minute walk. Unfortunately I do not think that makes up for some of the issues I've encountered during my time here and wish I had been informed about a few things before I actually moved it: 1. The floors must be insanely thin because you can hear every single footstep of the ...person above you (and know that the people below you can hear your footsteps as well). 2. On multiple occasions have walked into the lobby, an elevator, or common areas to see someone let their dog defecate or urinate and leave it there. Pretty disgusting but I guess that's more on the residents than the actually property. 3. Had my AC go out in the middle of the summer and took the maintenance team a week to do a simple fix that probably took 10 minutes. 4. Christmas night lost all water, leading to a monstrous noise from the HVAC that forced me to leave my apartment and sleep somewhere else. 5. Horrible internet connection for any provider throughout the building, and seemly no interest in installing any kind of wifi throughout the property which seems like a standard in this day and age. 6. Had the garage gate broken down, preventing anyone from parking their car 7. Latches on their entrance doors to the building that don't actually latch properly, giving a false sense of security. 8. Elevator doors that open half way. And I really don't mind that a lot of these issues have happened, you have to know that it is an old building. I am more upset by the MAA management's lack of communication to their residents. Even just sending out emails notifying people about issues that they are working on would be nice, but I guess that is not in their interest.Property Manager Responded

Poorly Equipped Appliances and Handling of Maintenance Requests
September 14, 2022I love the location of this building and the paperwork to apply/move-in was very seamless and easy. After move-in, I've been quite frustrated with the way my apartment came. My dishwasher doesn't operate, dryer and shower don't heat, mailbox key wasn't working and my blinds don't go down. All these should have been inspected prior to move-in by the team. It's been half a month that I've gone without these things, which are basic appliances I'm paying for and cannot use in my own place. I've ...called the front office several times and they just say I'm in their "queue" along with the others. I think those who just moved in should be prioritized so we can at least use our appliances upon move in.Property Manager Responded

2019 Update: Look elsewhere
June 6, 2019These other reviews are from several years ago. In 2019, I suggest looking at the other options around uptown. I have lived here for nearly a year. Over that time, the plumbing has been frequently shut off to the entire building (maintenance informs us the pipes are bad and there is no way to disconnect just one floor or apartment), my circuit breakers have gone bad and needed replacing, there are units being rented out on airbnb (contacted leasing office, they acknowledged one had been taken ...down while 6 remain), discovered vents were full of mold and mildew, and recently cars have been stolen from the parking garage. The elevators are old and creaky, and also super slow. Take your money elsewhere.Property Manager Responded

Rude staff
August 4, 2016The staff has absolutely no customer service skills. I hardly ever have to interact with them but anytime I have they have been extremely short and unhelpful. They may think they interact with a lot of people but in reality they are not making the interactions count. It's really turning me off about the place. A little bit of Everything in Uptown
September 1, 2015Great location. Just off the main drag so it's quieter, but you can walk to all the bars and restaurants in Uptown. State Thomas area directly around the complex has great bars and restaurants as well and a neighborhood feel. Short commute to downtown and easy access to free trolley that runs from West Village (even more restaurants) through uptown and into Downtown. Other popular areas are just a short Uber ride away. Building is undergoing a face lift as we speak to make it a little more modern ...with an upgraded gym and they have been steadily redoing the kitchens. The maintenance staff has always been quick and professional and the pool is great. Great location and price but remodeling
August 19, 2015The location and price is great! You are right in the middle of Uptown Dallas but are not around all of the loud parts. Great restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Parking can be a little hard to find for guests. They are currently doing a lot of remodeling so the apartment is increasing drastically in price. The staff is helpful and attentive.
