    If you want to always be messing with your pilot light on your water heater then this is the place for you. Anytime the wind blows a certain way it comes down and blows the pilot light out. I've woken up many times and have either had to take a cold shower or skip it before going to work. I've never had so many maintenance issues for one apartment. Decent location and neighborhood but at this rate it is absolutely overpriced for what they charge.

    The leasing agents, management, and maintenance are quick to respond to any questions or concerns. It is A very quiet apartment complex and a peaceful location. About a quarter mile away from the busy street, 7 mile, so you don’t have traffic disturbance. Every apartment complex will have issues, but I believe that the respectful and quick service at Canterbury makes all the difference with our living experience! It is also centralized location to Detroit, Royal oak, northville, Plymouth, novi! ...

    This place has been lovely so far! I’ve been here 8 months and have no complaints. The office staff was very friendly and helpful during moving in(especially it being mid pandemic). Maintenance has been out shoveling/ plowing/ salting consistently during these winter months. The fitness center is nicely equipped! And I look forward to using the pool this summer as they just retiled it when I moved in!

  • My Experience at Canterbury

    To those of you considering Canterbury as a place to live, please take a moment to do your research. That is something I wish I would have done before ever signing the lease for this place. As someone who has lived at Canterbury for about a year, I want to confirm that: 1. They overcharge for water. My water bill doubled after moving here from my previous residence. And I was also charged an expensive water bill after moving out during months when I no longer had the apartment, but they never ...
    showed us a bill from the water company directly. Looking back on it now, that's pretty suspicious. 2. They make their apartments seem nice, but the rent they charge is far too excessive for the quality of the apartment you get. Even in an updated unit, it was horrible with the walls being paper thin. You can hear everything your neighbors say and do. 3. I was charged a random fee of over a hundred dollars several months after moving out. After finally getting through to someone on the phone, they had every excuse as to why they couldn't give a reason for the charge. How can you charge someone a bill after moving out without having any record as to why? 4. There was an occassion when staff at Canterbury entered my apartment without my permission and without me being present. They gave notice prior and it wasn't for an emergency situation. I gave notice of when I would be home and made it clear that I wanted to be present when they came in, but instead they entered when I wasn't home. The staff in the office showed no concern about my complaint. 5. This place is a blackhole for money. I strongly advise you stay away and consider other homes at all costs.

    I have been renting since I was 21, I’ve never written a response negative about anywhere I’ve ever lived I have lived in large management companies, I have rented from large management companies several times in a row. I have a very solid rental history. I’m writing all this to say that this is the worst rental experience, they have poor maintenance, rude staff, horrible practices. Do not rent from these people. They will charge you way too much for subpar living maintenance and staff. Run.

    This place is amazing!! Everyone you come in contact with is wonderful from the office staff to the maintenance team. There is a pool which gorgeous, a fitness room that is available 24 hours a day and the new park looks like it will be awesome. I have lived here for almost four years and loved every minute of it.   • Poor customer service

    I expressed interest in seeing an apartment this May. When I tried calling in for an appointment, the employee (Ray) mandated that I complete an online application first. Along with this application came a $200 deposit that he explained to me was refundable. After some deliberation, I decided to pass on Canterbury Park but now Ray explains that the deposit is non-refundable after 24 hours. Since this was not clarified to me, I insisted on a refund to no avail. Apparently, their business model is ...

    I've been living here for less than a year. It's very quiet, private, and peaceful. Haven't had many issues with noise, except for one night it sounded like someone was moving a couch downstairs...all night. Other than that, quiet. Maintenance can take days to finally come to your apartment and fix what's needed, which can be frustrating. It's nice that it's fixed for free, but they could work more quickly. E-mails are responded to fairly quickly. The hours of the office are convenient. Move-in ...

    I have lived here for about a year now and I have never been so happy to live in an apartment. It's not the best place on earth, but you get exactly what you pay for and more. When I first moved in, the office staff was very friendly and I got free drinks every time. Even though this hasn't been my first rodeo, Ray still took the time out to explain everything. You pay for water, electric and gas. In my two bedroom, I spend about $100 for all the utilities. I have my own washer/dryer and that's ...
    saving me $80-$100 a month from using quarters. The rent might seem a little expensive at first, but you're saving laundry money and you're getting the almost absolute silence from neighbors. I have a family of four living under me and they have little kids. Frankly, I don't hear them. My two bedroom apartment has two full baths which is perfect for roommate. Considering I split my rent with him, I pay about $500 for a fantastic apartment. Maintenance has been wonderful. Things break and wear, I get that, but they only need to fix it once within 3 days and I have never had any recurring issues. The service manager is a pro and the tech, Rob is fantastic. Everybody loves Rob. they have a 24/7 fitness center a short walk from my apartment with the walk way lit up, so I can go at night. They also lit up the outside of the building with brand new LED bulbs, so I feel secure coming home late. Bottom line: Everywhere you go, it's going to be four walls and a roof. But the office is always friendly, maintenance is well experienced and lives on-site, and you have privacy and quiet. If you're looking for the cheapest, don't live in Livonia. But if you're sick of things falling apart and being insulted by previous apartments, come here. You won't regret it.
