Nittany Village is fantastic. It is the best bargain for the money at PSU HBG.

    • These people will harass you to stay with them but...

the aforementioned reviews are SPOT ON! This place is DEPLORABLE and their wishes to accept an incomplete agreement, of a minor with NO guarantor, is extremely telling. Don't fall into their little tricks to get you to join them. The Dean of Pennsylvania State and neighboring institutes will be contacted to steer CLEAR from referring students to this scam-leasing "management." Very very sad. #KnowYourRights

    • Management is absent

      July 2, 2017
Near constant pot smoking on the floor, and room where my child stayed. No enforcement on pot smoking, but management can't wait to enforce the retainage clause on your kid for the damages by others. On site manager will not do an interim walk through when one occupant moves out. A missing chair is an easy thing to check off on! Hey management, even a simple stroll down the hallway is all the proof you need of illegal drug activity. Better clean it up before the lax drug enforcement bites you ...
in the rear. Last i checked it is an illegal drug. What are your floor monitors up to? Smoke was bad enough in the room and on the floor i worried about a positive drug test for my child who was looking for an internship with a credible company! Is it really my child's responsibility to enforce your rules? Parents in my opinion, based on our experience, look elsewhere.

    • Don't rent here

We cleaned everything at this apartment three times over and long story short they still decided to charge my security deposit for cleaning even after talking to them via email about it... they also threw in hidden fees for no reason just so they can stuff their pockets with extra cash.... yeah don't rent here... they are shady af.

    • DO NOT RENT HERE

      July 1, 2017
I thought this was a good place to rent, but when it came down to end of the year cleaning to move out.... I have a lot to say... My two roommates helped me clean the whole apartment (third roommate didn't want to help) and we cleaned everything that was on the checklist very well then, I went there the weekend before I was going to hand in my keys with my mom to do very deep cleaning on literally the entire inside of the apartment just in case they charge anything ridiculous on cleaning since I ...
didn't trust them. We spent 5 hrs dedicated to cleaning everything as best as we can.... and it ended up being so good that the inside of the whole apartment was much cleaner than what I was given. We left it in beyond perfect condition! We expected not to have anything taken away from the security deposit! I got my last account statement.... THEY CHARGED FOR CLEANING ANYWAY!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I emailed the owner on this matter and sent him pictures on how perfect a job we did on cleaning the apartment.... his reply (took a week to get back to me) was that he attached the report in the email.. I read the report and nothing was really said... it literally just had a list of stuff that was taken away from my security deposit.... it was the same as my account statement! Aparently there were also floor repairs that had to be done I didn't get any pictures nor was the floor even damaged in my apartment.... LISTEN TO ME: DO NOT RENT HERE! They are horrible people that want to do everything they can to get money out of you, if you are too late and signed the lease... then when you leave the apartment... atleast for the cleaning portion... DO NOT CLEAN ANYTHING... and as a matter of fact, leave the place dirtier than when you found it... if I knew about this, I would have just made the place as dirty as possible so they can charge a real cleaning fee... I would have thrown the trash everywhere on the floor and much more believe me, the other things they listed on my account statement, they listed it just so they can get free money, the things they list are listed for no reason what-so-ever please be aware of that. One more thing... The "cleaning service" they offer actually don't clean anything... they literally came in... wipe something half-assed, and then leave... I complained about it multiple times... and one time they skipped my apartment all together... my complaints didn't do anything... Please don't rent with them... if you do, then don't clean at the end.

This place try as much as possible to keep your deposit. For me they charged me $40 for room cleaning, which me and my mom cleaned. And $75 dollars for paint in the common area. I don't know why I have to pay for paint in the common area. The funny thing is that they tried to charged me $375 for paint in the common area, but I sent a email telling them to fix it.

They don't enforce the rules! Smoking...ciggaretes and pot. ? underage drinking! All they do is give out warnings. If you are doing your part to keep the apartment clean and good repair and the other roommates tear the place up you will be giving up your deposit. Multiple attempts to get help and didn't get anywhere. The place was filthy for move in and they have the nerve to keep the deposit when you leave.

Agree with the person who wrote the previous review. Your deposit will be used to clean up and paint the apartment from normal wear and tear. It is customary in all student housing lease agreements that a clean up and painting should be done at the end of a year's lease but this place charges you for what should be a landlord incurred expense. Inspections are done a month after a student moves out, and they will deny your request for an inspection when you hand your key in. In that month's gap, ...
they have complete access to your unit.

This place will keep your deposit sighting things such as missing furniture. Inspections are not done in a timely manor which leaves the door wide open for things to happen when your student moves out!
