Management will lie to go into your apartments
December 6, 2018Stayed there for two years and management would go a little to far, take a mile when an inch was appropriate, or just plain lie to go into your apartment. It was a ton of stress.Review from Apartments.com
Mrs. Scaife
November 4, 2018Forget what you knew BEFORE or heard!! These apartments have been completely transformed. From the lobby to the hallways, to the basement, this place is awesome for the money. My particular unit and the areas inside and out are well kept. The maintenance workers go out of their way to keep things clean and tidy, on a daily they are vacuuming the halls and maintaining the inside and outside appearance of the building. No evidence of any sort of pest or rodents. Management takes the liberty of ...making you feel secure and safe with key card entry and cameras on every turn. The laundry area is great, there's seating, a soda machine and yes a token dispenser for laundry but I believe this is just for security measures, not a big deal for me. The application process was not complicated at all. Rules are explained and sound completely fair. Rei is the most professional, compassionate property manager I have met yet. You can tell he is passionate about making Normandy apartments better for the residents and the community. Oh and the rent is fair considering the great location. I have had several packages delivered in my absence (I'm a huge on line shopper) and Rei will take the liberty of getting it to my unit or it sits down in the lobby safe and untouched until my arrival, which is sometimes pretty late, so it's awesome to have trustworthy neighbors as well. This location is worth looking into!!!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Bugs!!
May 9, 2018Building is very old and hasn't been maintained. Had several bits on body and doctor diagnosed as bed bugs. Landlord claimed to have had building fumigated, but the bugs didn't go away. The new property manager is terrible, and not trustworthy.Review from Apartments.com
Be warned...
November 14, 2017Just be warned. They are absolutely awful. They couldn't care less about you if they are getting their rent and utility payment. Parking is awful. Don't pay for a spot because you share it with whomever, or get blocked in by the manager. Property managers change like the seasons. No one probably wants this building and the nasty people and problems it collects. Always smells of weed, crime is high, and there's a huge unaddressed pest issue, including bedbugs, carpet mites, carpet beetles, and ...roaches. Just rent somewhere else. Quality Hill is full of places that are better maintained than here.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
ZERO STARS!
October 20, 2017Do not rent here, you will regret it. Life revolves around no parking, shady tenants, and a key card that often doesn't work to get into the building. Always smells of smoke and always someone hassling you for money. The building collects the nastiest people. Parking is awful and nearly impossible. Just be warned, nothing good here. Do not be sucked in by the redone office, it's nothing like the units.Review from Apartments.com
Absolutely awful!
October 19, 2017Worst experience ever! Management couldn’t care less about the building and the tenants. Always smells like weed in the lobby, old men used to hassle me for money. Washers and dryers never work. Bed bugs. Expensive parking with ridiculous parking. Get charged back for things that they just want to take money for! Be warned, do not rent from Del Properties!Review from Apartments.com
This is your warning
June 24, 2016So. As I'm writing this it is 4:15 AM & I awoke due to the fact that it is incredibly hot in my apartment. I paid the landlord for an A/C unit, and after the first not getting the job done and waking up sweating multiple times throughout the night, the second is significantly worse and I am sitting here dripping in sweat. When I first moved in, almost a year ago, everything was dandy for about a month or two. Then, all of the sudden, bedbugs showed up. Now, I am extremely allergic to bedbugs. ...These little guys showed up out of nowhere, so I began to complain to the landlord and he began to spray for them once a week. That didn't take care of the job, so I in turn lost a riduculous amount of sleep and had skin rashes thanks to the bugs. Finally, I spoke with the owner and he informed me that I must have brought them in. No sir, my bed is new and I'm highly allergic to them so I would've known if my previous living situation had bed bugs. Also, they were coming from the closet which is the closest to my neighbors apartment. After no help from Dell Properties, I spent a ridiculous amount of money wrapping my bed and box spring and buying bed bug traps, and finally lofting my bed so the bugs could not get to it. Dell Properties got a new Landlord for dear old Normandy, which I must say he's quite a handsome fella. Super good guy who actually cares about his tenants too. Funny thing is, a few months after my bed bug problem and the owner informing me it must be me, a notice went up near the elevator telling everyone how bedbugs are entirely difficult to kill and can come into even the cleanest of apartments. Mind you, I had done my research and told the owner all of this. I had heard a lot of problems about cockroaches, but I had never experienced any problems myself due to the fact that I keep things pretty well kept. But, the past two months I have seen an increasing level of random cockroaches throughout my apartment. It's quit unnerving. Actually, I just saw one on the hallway wall before I wrote this post. Don't let the nice lobby fool you, or the handsome landlord. The maintenance crew is pretty nice and solid as well. But get to know the building and the owner, and you will be thoroughly unimpressed. Yes the building is rather old, but the owner makes far too much money on this building and his many others to let it stay so unkept and essentially, one of the worst apartment buildings in downtown Kansas City. -Tenant of a yearRead MoreReview from Apartments.com
Slumlord!!!
August 14, 2015This is the most awful place to live. I wish I could post a video. When I open my cabinets roaches fall onto the floor. There are roaches and bedbugs everywhere. The halls smell awful. John the property manager is mean to the tenets after they move in and the men that work there. He will lose your rent check multiple after it's been cashed trying to say you never payed your rent. You have to pay an extra $70 for an air conditioner. Run!!! Don't ever rent here!!!Review from Apartments.com
