Renters Reviews and Ratings
I wish I saw these comments before I rented from here
September 9, 2016Do yourself a favor and do NOT rent from Joe Goodell Properties and their new manager Kathleen. I am a typical broke college student from Pennsylvania. I got an internship in Toledo and needed to relocate. I was set for Toledo in about 2 weeks and hadn't heard from anyone about signing a lease, so I called and Kathleen told me she would be the point of contact going forward. I was flying in Friday night and she said I would have to get a hotel for the weekend EVEN THOUGH I WAS ALREADY PAYING ...FOR THE APARTMENT because she only works Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30. I had my first day of work Monday at 8:00AM and she was very unreasonable as I am not from the area and had no where to stay. So I made the 4 hour drive three days before the 1st of the month to get my keys and drove back home and she still charged me $100 prorate. At that point I signed the lease for 3 months bc I was working the 1st week of August in Toledo and needed somewhere to live. Going into the lease Kathleen, my dad, and I talked about only renting until the end of July then me staying in a hotel for the first week. She said I would have to let her know as soon as possible because she has demand for that unit. I ultimately decided to rent until the end of the month. So about a week later, on my first day of work, I found out that I was actually being transferred back to Pittsburgh and therefore would not need housing in Toledo for August. I left work a little early to catch Kathleen and asked if I could get out of August since I would no longer be needing it. SHE PRETENDED WE NEVER HAD A CONVERSATION ABOUT ME ONLY RENTING 2 MONTHS (THE ORIGINAL DEAL I TALKED ABOUT WITH NANCY) she said the minimum they rent "monthly" units is three months but I have seen no proof of that. I gave her about 60 days verbal notice and she could have found a replacement. I have this feeling that she rented it out anyway and just kept double the money. If none of this steers you away, let me tell you about the furnished units. THEY ARE SO TINY. If you like to cook, there is absolutely no counter space. I spent most of the time using cutting boards on the FLOOR. there wasn't enough space even for a coffee pot and toaster to be used together. the walls have CHIPPING LEAD paint. the pull out couch mattress is so uncomfortable you might as well just sleep on the love seat. I think my neck has permanent damage and when my grandma came to visit I thought she was going to break a hip when she sunk into that metal bar.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
If I could, I would give this place half a star.
August 19, 2016I lived here for 3 years. Everything was good the first 2 years and then the management fired the great manager. I didn't think much about it, because I thought the management is smart they will get a better manager. Oh my god I was wrong. the new manager makes the most uncomfortable remarks. She is not helpful at all and is very rude. She talks to you nicely only when she wants to, and if she is having a bad day, she can take it out on you. After our first interaction I thought to myself, ...it's okay we might not have to interact again. Again I was wrong. All the packages are left with her. She leaves at 5:30. If you do not make it by then from work, well its your bad luck. The building smells of marijuana all the time. The smoke alarm goes off at least 5 to 6 times in the middle of the night in summer. And the worst part is it goes off at 12:00 am or 3:00 am. Oh and people do smoke in the building because one can smell it. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
STAY AWAY- no longer a good place to stay.
May 21, 2016STAY AWAY. This place used to be good 2 years ago. Anyone considering staying at this apartment complex needs to stay away. The owners have hired on a really terrible building manager that could care less about the tenants and previous agreements that were made with the previous manager. This building usually smells on the floors, in addition to the TERRIBLE customer service, the building owner seems to have instructed the building manager to find a reason of any kind to withhold the deposits ...that you pay when you sign the contract. No matter how well you clean, shampoo the rugs and return the room in mint condition as received, they will charge you the deposit to "clean", which may be a breach of contract and illegal. We are looking into this legally currently, however I would just avoid this building at all cost. There are many other issues with the building like poor water pressures, slow to respond management for issues (caveat: the building maintenance man, Jeff, is amazing). If you want packages that you order online from Gap, Amazon, Best Buy, books etc etc the building manager does not allow them to be delivered to you door, anymore. If you are a business person or student, this alone should be an issue for you to stay clear of this place. This place also will not allow pets, EVER, of ANY KIND. The halls smell of marijuana and smoke all the time even though this building is supposedly "smoke free".Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Beautiful Old Building
August 1, 2015We currently live in a 1 bedroom apartment at the Park Lane. It is very spacious, very well maintained, and we LOVE our 7 windows! It is a great place to live.Review from Apartments.com
Safe, beautiful, and a great deal!
July 31, 2015My experience at Park Lane has been an amazing one. From the start, Nancy was the most helpful and welcoming landlord I've ever dealt with. Any matinence issues (there were virtually none) were quickly and graciously solved. Apartments are beautiful and neighbors are quiet. When I lived in a furnished suite, the cleaning service was amazing every week. I always felt safe, both inside and in the parking lot. The fact that my utilities were included in the price... Unreal. Overall this has been an ...awesome place to rent and it quickly felt like home.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
