The middle of San Diego
August 7, 2015Park Place La Jolla is a living community more than just a group of condos. The residing board of the community constantly strives for improvements and keeps the common areas in great condition. The building management company, Silverado, is one of the better management company's I've spoken with. They respond to everything in an extremely timely manner. Any issues, call them up, and more often than not, it will be corrected or addressed. The neighbors are quiet, mostly keep to themselves, but ...are incredibly friendly. That being said, there is a reason why everything is so controlled. The owners board frowns upon renting out units. It happens anyway to keep the community quiet. Of course, renters are abound and it's a good thing. There is a good mix of people here. Families, students, retirees. The problem is that the owners board, or association, is mostly older folks. We used to have access to the tennis courts and swimming pools across the street. But that way voted against in favor of potted plants in the courtyards and common areas. They are nice, but I'm I'd rather have access to the pool then look at plants in the hallways. I would suggest making some friends across the street. That usually works. The UTC mall is super close by; la jolla is a quick drive away; the 5 and 805 freeways are very close; there is almost every brewery in San Diego less than 5 miles away, it's really the middle of San Diego county. 15 minute drive to downtown AND to North County (Carlsbad/Oceanside). It's also down the street from UCSD. Great place for a group of students to rent. UTC is improving everything to have more bars, restaurants, and general cool. You can do a lot worse. The rent is decent with 2-3 bedrooms. Condos are a decent, yet cozy size. I've lived here for 6 years and love it. Come rent a place and enjoy San Diego!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
