  • Worst Renting Experience in 10+ Years

    I've rented in the Dallas area for over a decade, and Park at Gateway was by far my worst renting experience in all that time. The office staff is nice, professional, and responsive, but the problems we had are with the other services and maintenance. To list a few examples of their incompetence in this area: Upon move in, there were a few problems with the apartment. Our water heater didn't work well and we were not able to take hot showers. It took over a week to finally fix this. Our floors ...
    and backsplash had some cosmetic problems they committed to fixing before we moved in but never did. Our smart lock never worked and maintenance was unable to figure it out. This resulted in my pregnant wife being locked out of our apartment more than once for several hours while our dog was inside. They eventually gave up and installed a regular lock. The trash valet service was inconsistent and very poorly handled - perhaps they've figured this piece out now as I believed they switched companies, but the "5 day a week service" made it out to our apartment perhaps 3x/wk on average, and occasionally missed entire weeks. Apartment management told us "Hold tight! We'll have this all fixed soon!" which is all well and good, but if your tenants are paying for a service that you have repeatedly failed to provide, you need to provide a refund for that service or stop billing until you have things figured out. When we moved out, the apartment billed us our entire deposit + several hundred dollars, some of which I felt was fair but the majority of it was blown out of proportion. Maybe they felt this review was coming and figured it wouldn't get any worse so they would just try to stick it to me. Most comical to me on the move out invoice was that they charged me 75.00 for trash removal, after I spent 12 months paying for an abysmal trash valet service.

  • Great Apartments

    January 10, 2018
    We recently moved to Park at Gateway apartments and till now our experience was great. These are newly constructed (2017) apartments and the two bedroom apartment which we took is spacious with sensible plan and lot of closet space in kitchen. The management is very friendly and in particular Megan was very helpful through out our move in process.

  • Bad Customer Service from the Beginning

    August 12, 2017
    Due to some clerical issue on the apartment's fault, they had already leased the apartment which we had put the deposit. Megan showed us the apartment on Thursday and didn't know it was already leased the day before on Wednesday. Even when I showed up at 9:55AM on Friday to put down our deposit, she insisted that the apartment was available and ready for us. It was a lie. All because she didn't bother to print out an updated listing. Very disappointed at this shady practice.
