    I received a response to my review that is completely untrue. I can provide proof of the $100 off rent because there is a whole page dedicated to it in my lease agreement. It states that if you write 4 five star reviews on 4 different platforms you would receive $100 off one month rent. It listed all the sites you can write reviews on. Obviously they wouldn’t want that advertised, but I wish I knew that was why there were so many great reviews full of lies! Another false statement is about the ...
    pool. I went once on a Wednesday afternoon during hours of operation and the pool was closed… It wasn’t open the rest of the season. I wasn’t too upset though because it was filthy. Also, if you had to contact the police department and ask them to keep an eye out on the complex that should tell you everything you need to know about the unsafe environment here. Not only is it unsafe but it is so dirty all around. All the dumpsters are piled high with trash and surrounding every dumpster there is junk and trash. I can provide proof of that as well. Please don’t listen to the liars that are responding to the reviews because I haven’t even named half of what’s wrong with this property.

      Hello, we have been discussing this over email and you sent a photo of the flyer you received. We are scratching our heads because we don't see a mention of paying for a 4 or 5 star review. The pool was open all season, so we are a bit stumped on this one as well. We see your photos of some items around the dumpsters. We ask that residents don't place their trash outside the dumpsters, but we do clean the grounds daily and the trash outside the dumpsters is addressed on the next daily walkthrough.

    The only reason there are any reviews is because they give you $100 off rent if you give a 5 star review. It’s crazy here! The police are here almost every single day sometimes 2-3 times a day whether it’s for drugs, fights, prostitution, you name it. It’s very unsafe here and I really can’t wait until my lease is up. Junkies will knock on your door at all hours and drug use in practically every unit. I called the leasing office the morning after someone tried to break into my apartment at 1:45 ...
    AM and the person in the office said “ok? Call the police. What are we supposed to do about it?” I hate it here! My place smells like marijuana every. single. day. because the person the next unit over smokes it all day every day. They’re on their 4th property manager since I moved in over the summer! There’s no laundry, the pool was open MAYBE a week over the summer, and your mail/packages will be stolen. They finally just put in mailboxes but packages still go in the office during their hours of operation. If you get a package delivered during hours they aren’t open, it will go in front of your apartment and you better pray one of the crackheads don’t steal it. They really don’t care about your complaints, they don’t care about anything at all as long as they get their money. If you’re reading this: RUN! You can do so much better, especially since they raised the rent. Not worth it AT ALL!

      Hello, there must be a misunderstanding because we are not providing $100 off for a five-star review. We arranged for the police to monitor the complex to make our residents feel safe. A break-in is definitely a police matter. Please submit a written complaint regarding your neighbor to branson@pkhousing.com. We have had one new property manager since summer. You are correct in that there is no laundry currently, but we are working on it. The pool was open every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day and only closed on Mondays.     I don't like to complain much. This was the cheapest place I could find in the timeframe I needed to move. It is not the worst place to live, but I wish it was as good as it was hyped up to be. for months now, I have barely had any hot water. It took me running my sink for an HOUR before I could get any hot water to do my dishes and almost half an hour for me to get any hot or luke warm water to come out of my shower. I havent had too many problems, but I have friends in other buildings that had ...
    their water shut off and was not notified at all. I do have to say that I am thankful they finally have the mailboxes set up. I can never make it to the office to pick up my mail so it is great to now be able to just pop by the mailboxes when I get home. I dont necessarily feel unsafe here at Platos. I know every place has people lerking around, walking around at all hours of the night, etc. Two things I would like would be for people to follow the rules and not smoke right out side their rooms, and for them to clean up after their dogs. All in all, all apartment complexes have their faults. This place is good for people starting out on their own. And their is always room for improvement. (I live in building 5, so if there is something wrong with the hot water, I would love to know. I don't like cold showers haha)

      Hello, we are sorry you were having trouble with your hot water. When we were notified of the problem, maintenance repaired it, but then it needed more attention. We had the final fix completed in less than a week. Please let our office know if there are any other hot water problems or if you have other maintenance needs. We do as much as we can to enforce the rules in our leases but unfortunately, cannot constantly monitor the smoking and pet waste 24/7. Please let us know if you witness either of things ASAP and we can take the steps to address them. Thank you!

    I am currently a resident of Plato's Cave Apartments (2022) and this is the crappiest apartment complex available. I 100% agree with the other 1 star reviews about this place and don't understand who is writing the good reviews (probably staff or management). The apartments are falling apart and have been since moving in. When we put a request to fix things, the maintenance staff claims that they are working just fine. Speaking of which, when moving in I was told that I would be notified at least ...
    with a call when they were entering my apartment and received no such notifications (haven't put in any requests since). We were promised a full size apartment fridge in September of 2021 and have still not received it; instead living with 2 mini fridges. Laundry mat has been down for years and still no sign of it getting fixed after the supposed fire. Not a safe place to live. Creepy people, alcoholics, drug users, etc. Have heard the complaints taken to the office and nothing ever gets done about them. My fiance and I went to St. Louis for a week and when we got back, the elevator had been tagged with spray paint. They claim that they are a non smoking facility, but everyone smokes in or right outside of it. The management are pushovers who only care about making money and not the people living here.

As we don't have your name, we are not sure if you put in written maintenance requests or if they were submitted in another way, but we require written requests. When a maintenance request is submitted, you have the option to either require notice or indicate no notice is needed. If no notice is needed, we knock 3 times and then enter the apartment home. We have no record of a refrigerator request. Please submit a new request. The laundry facility repair has been delayed due to the insurance process and we apologize for any inconvenience that has caused. We did make arrangements for a local laundromat to offer a discounted service. We were aware of the spray paint on the elevator and addressed it as soon as we were able. Please bring all complaints and requests to the new manager, who can be emailed at branson@pkhousing.com. Thank you!

    Plato’s Cave, ‘like home’? REALLY? Who’s writing these 4-5 star reviews? Truth is in order here. Simply drive around, onto and in the property, randomly, day or nighttime. And the moment you, upon close inspection you’ll see for yourselves this is NOT like home. If you’re daring, come after 11 pm especially between buildings 5 & 6, and watch the foot traffic among drunkards & drugs users etc. Check the unsecured, unfinished buildings that house unscrupulous, creepy people throughout the day, ...
    hiding between construction containers, especially at night. Talk to some of the tenants who haven’t left yet. Ask them honest questions and for honest answers about their experience at Plato’s Cave. This will help you make the most informed decision about not moving there… Oh, did I say that? Yeah, but you’ll have to make your decision.
