  • Good location... poor management

    I love my apartment.... I love the location.... half the time I love the community (depending on amount of trash around complex)... amenities need work.... car ports with damaged roofs. Open holes in the ground where a car port was removed that kids have gotten injured on.... the gym half the free weights have been stolen as they leave the second door unlocked at all times... when you drive into the complex there has been a chimney cover on the ground for about 3 months now.... the pool ...

Summer 2018- no pools Summer 2019- pools open for half the summer (city shut them down) Summer 2020- pools closed due to not being able to pass inspection but they used covid as the excuse Summer 2021- Pools still chained shut till this day. This place needs to get it together unfortunately Ill probably stay one more lease and just enjoy my apartment and the neighboring apartments amenities. The first year I lived here was great but I believe we are on the 4th management group in 3 years. Its like the red headed step child of apartment complexes.

    Quiet neighborhood excellent customer service. Kimberly and her team is on point. I went in with a few minor problems. They fixed quickly. I was so impressed with the excellent attention. I renewed for another year.

  • RUN! DO NOT RENT HERE!

    Please do not be fooled by the outside appearance! This is the WORSE renting experience I have ever had!!! If I could give it negative stars I would. The only good things about this place are that the complex is quiet and you are not able to hear your neighbors inside the apartment. That’s where it stops. I lived in 2 separate units within a year and a half and both units had mold. The first property manager was extremely rude and dismissive. I had to wait almost 2 weeks for someone to come and ...
    fix the garbage disposal which had backed up in the kitchen. There was standing water that had begun to stink. And the only reason it was finally fixed, is because I physically went into the office to complain. I had put it several maintenance requests. I transferred to a different unit and again, there was mold. The carpet was still wet and stunk. Maintenance had left trash in the bathroom. There was mold all over the tub. The air doesn’t work. I might as well sleep outside because it may feel better even with the fan on and the air on 60. They have changed staff once again and now the new manager is refusing to send my rental verification to the other complex I am applying to. The request was sent several times over a week’s span. I had to physically walk into the leasing and refuse to leave until she filled it out. She did so or at least she claimed she did, begrudgingly. She then came out of the office and proceeded to walk towards the back behind a closed door and said to me with a major attitude that she was about to send the form. She NEVER sent the form! I called the other complex and they still have not received it. This all comes after I receive a note on my door from them asking me to cancel my vacate notice and renew my lease. I would NEVER live here again! I have contacted my attorney. It should not be this difficult to get a simple form filled out. Please RUN and do not look back!

  • Terrible!

    Terrible!! Absolutely worst place I’ve ever lived . I dont even know where to begin! I was there for 11 months , first of all the first day I moved in the carpet was wet and filthy.. they said it’s “clean” but there was dog hair everywhere and stains . I had 7 issues for them to fix and nothing got done . I kept it clean but somehow bugs were everywhere plus spiders . Let management know . Nothing was done . From then on I had on going issues . Then I had majorrr issues and still nothing was done ...
    . They never answer their phone calls . They never answer their emails . You go to the office and they are out to lunch . Probably the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. DO NOT MOVE HERE ! I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT .

  • Everything was great until new property mgmt

    June 15, 2018
    Been here 3 years, and have had no complaints until recently when new management took over. We had sever electrical surges in my building recently. My neighbors and I warned the property for weeks we were having issues. I finally called oncor and had them come out. We were getting double the recommended voltage to our building. The Tecnition from oncor said we were weeks away from an electrical fire. My neighbors and I lost thousands of dollars of electronics in the recent surges. Property ...
    manager Yolanda has yet to say anything other than “that’s what renters insurance is for.” My oven has been broken for a week now. I keep getting the run around as to when it will be fixed. I hope you have good renters insurance.

  • Loved Living Here!!!!

    I lived here at Highlands of Preston in 2014-2016 and I couldn't have been happier. I leasing staff were very attentive and sweet. The noise level was minimal, and my neighbors were very nice. I loved the swimming pool, there is nothing better than to go for a swim after a hard week at work. The environment is nice and chill. Whenever I had a service request maintenance would call and confirm right away and by the time I got back home my issue would already be resolved. The only reason why I ...

  • Pretty good apartments for the location

    Clean grounds on a quieter street, only 10-15 minute walk or 5-10 minute run to 5 grocery stores, more than 15 restaurants, more than 10 shopping stores, and right along the DART bus line makes Highlands of Preston a solid location choice. The apartments are spacious and reasonably upgraded with a price that balances the amenities and interior finishings and location with good value when compared to other apartments in the immediate area.

    Well-maintained apartments in a quiet, safe area. I have lived here about a year and a half and really enjoyed it. There are a lot of young families and young couples just starting out here, as well as some college-age people, but it is not a party area (generally pretty quiet.) The kitchen appliances, plumbing, fixtures, etc. look nice and work well. My 1-bedroom did not come with a washer/dryer, but there is space/outlets for them if you bring your own. Nice swimming pool next to the ...
    exercise room, which has treadmills, ellipticals, various weight-lifting machines and some free weights. Residents get a covered parking spot, and there are always extra uncovered parking spots around as well. The only problem I have had was occasional wasps coming in through the fireplace. Maintenance was prompt to respond to this. I'm not sure about the external pest control guy they bring in, but the regular maintenance crew seems pretty smart and capable. Close access to a grocery store, restaurants, Firestone Auto Care, and Half Price Books. These are all within walking distance on a nice day. For families - I attended the Plano public school system K-12, and this is an exceptionally good school system.
