Unpleasant Living Experience at this RPM property
December 11, 2023I lived at this RPM property in Austin, TX for 11 months from 2022-2023. A couple reasons why I'm leaving a 1-star review: Regarding the apartment complex itself: - The garbage was not picked up often enough. Often, this would lead to garbage overflowing from the dumpsters, which was really an eyesore and made it really unpleasant to walk in the complex. - The security gates for vehicles to enter and to exit the apartment complex were frequently broken and would often remain so for weeks on ...end. This is a serious security hazard, particularly in a neighborhood with a lot of vagrancy problems. - There were person-sized gaps in the wrought iron fence around the property - again, another security hazard, allowing for the entry of unauthorized individuals into the complex. - There was not any sort of regular pest control happening in the complex. I had to keep a roach trap right next to the front door of my apartment and had to replace it frequently due to the roach problem. - The air compressor and vacuum in the car wash area was broken during the entirety of my time there. After a while, they also shut off the faucet for washing cars. - We were once left for nearly 24 hours without running water in our apartment due to a supposed leak they couldn't "fix". - The grounds looked generally unkempt (e.g. bits of trash around, dirt patches where grass had formerly been, dog excrement - even on the footpaths, and so on). In addition, the landlord charged us for "wear and tear" items in the apartment (which is against Texas tenancy laws): - There was peeling paint on the bathtub backsplashes in my apartment that I noticed when moving in. Regardless of the paint peeling before moving in, the landlord decided to renovate the bathrooms using part of my security deposit. - There was a small patch of peeling paint on the wall in my flatmate's room. The landlord decided to repaint the entire wall and charge us for it (from the security deposit) upon moving out. - Furthermore, after settling up my account after moving out, a representative from RPM reached out to me via email and informed me that I owed additional charges. Fortunately, I had the email confirmation from the week prior affirming that I had, in fact, paid all charges to my account to-date. I felt like this RPM property was neither a safe nor a clean place to live, which is why I did not renew my lease with them.Property Manager Responded

Poor management
December 21, 2022I recently moved from Radius at The Domain. While living there, I experienced unnecessarily noisy neighbors on countless occasions that the apartment complex personnel failed to handle adequately. A solution was never sought. When you’re paying hard-earned money to live somewhere, you have the right to sleep peacefully at night and not have to suffer through inconsiderate neighbors. The apartment security personal was called on multiple occasions, nearing multiple times a week every day as week ...when noises became unbearable and a interfered with being able to sleep at night. However, the disturbances continued no matter how many times complaints were made. I moved to another apartment only to be charged a ridiculous amount of money for no reason or warning from Radius at The Domain. To top everything off, my security deposit has not been returned from the apartment. Money is a seeming priority to the apartment officials — not their residents.Property Manager Responded

Management Refuses Easy Solutions
November 18, 2022The unit itself is fine, I don't have any complaints there. The pricing for the area is competitive. However, the gates frequently don't work, and keys stick/freeze in cold weather. I am a resident who has renewed. I recently went to the front office to ask for a barcode / sticker for the gate to automatically open without key punching. The front office refused to give me a sticker without charging me for it. They do issue one (which they charge for) at move-in, but I lost it during the move and ...have always used the key pad. They have an easy solution for the issue, giving me a sticker, but they refuse to do so, and thus are locking me, and I've seen other residents, out of our parking lot near our apartments. The refusal to do a courteous simple solution earns them this low review. The issue is 100% their fault because I would be happy to use the key pad, it just does not work. I suggest looking for a different apartment if you can get a similar price, or wait for new management. I hope $20 is worth a bad review.Property Manager Responded

Roaches, Mold, Homeless People
February 18, 2022Don’t live here. I have mold in my vents, and cockroaches coming out of walls. People do not pick up after their pets. If you like to host family and friends, the neighbors will call you in to management for “disturbing the community.” Also, there have been multiple reports of people squatting on the property. Is there a front office ?
June 6, 2018This place is terrible your emails, phone calls and pest problems will go unanswered. For three weeks my dishwasher has not worked and no one has fixed it yet. They get work orders mixed up and you don’t get what ever you need worked on or fixed. I have a rodent problem and I caught 5 of them myself. They wouldn’t even put me up in a hotel, they wanted me to pay out of pocket. I woke up with dropping’s on my counter tops for 2 1/2 weeks. That’s truly disgusting.Review from Apartments.com
