  • Recommended place to live

    January 20, 2021
I have lived at the Renaissance for over 3.5 years and have enjoyed calling the Renaissance home. The sense of community, attentiveness of leasing & maintenance staff and amenities (rooftop, gym, common room) make this a compelling place to live. Also, the location is perfect – a nice balance between the river and OTR, with close access to the streetcar. Each unit is practical and offers a lot of space for an apartment in the city. I personally enjoy the high ceilings and tall windows. I ...
recommend scheduling a tour if you are considering downtown living!

  • Many longtime residents here at the Renaissance

    August 23, 2018
Don't believe the review that says most of the Renaissance residents plan on leaving. We have lived here for 8 years, and I have two neighbors who have been here for 13 years, one who has been here 9 years, and another for 5. In fact, my former next door neighbor, who moved to another state for a job transfer, just learned she is moving back to Cincinnati and immediately rented here again. We had planned to move after a year or two, but every time our lease comes up, we look around at other ...
properties and come to the conclusion that the Renaissance is an excellent value. The floor plans are practical, attractive, and comfortable. We have more storage than any other property that I've seen in the city. We have always had immediate response to any maintenance issues. The location couldn't be better: a 10-minute walk to the Square, yet out of the city center crowds. And there is a streetcar stop right behind the building that will give you a comfortable ride to OTR or the Banks. We have a lovely community room which we can reserve free of charge. We have a few computers and printer set up in the common area for residents' use. The workout room has adequate equipment that meets the needs of most. The management recently hosted a party on the beautiful rooftop, which was well-attended by residents of all ages (even a couple little children) and lasted late into the night. The rooftop has been beautified by flowers and trees, red umbrellas, and the addition of more tables, chairs, and grills. The comment about the concierge we used to have? I did not find that they served any great service. Back then, we had to wait until someone was in the office to get our packages, which was very inconvenient; now the packages are delivered right to the door. If we are going to be out of town and are expecting a package, the management is happy to lock up our deliveries. The Renaissance is an historic building; it's not the new shiny thing. An older building doesn't have some of the bells and whistles, but our building is homey and friendly. No apartment building is perfect, nor does it meet the needs of everyone. I am glad that the vast majority of the dozens of friends I've made at the Renaissance are very happy to be here.

  • Love the Renaissance!!

    August 5, 2018
We have lived here several years....and absolutely love the Renaissance! Betsy and Brad take their jobs very seriously and address any concerns immediately! Service work orders are handled by Donnie and Rob, as soon as they receive them. There is such a nice, family, community feeling here in the building. Many improvements have been made since Betsy and Brad arrived! We highly recommend the Renaissance at the Power Building!

  • Don't be fooled by misleading reviews by "Happy Resident" going on 3rd year

    July 25, 2018
I an appalled at the review below. We recently left this place after only a year. We knew long term residents that moved in years before the building was sold and Towne Properties took over and they had highly recommended the property so when we were looking to move downtown, this was our choice because of location and apartment size. We did not experience any of the "happy" stuff mentioned regarding the current management, Betsy or Brad. On the contrary, Betsy is not friendly and is more ...
likely to growl at you rather than smile. While the maintenance guys do a good job, isn't that what we are paying for in a "luxury" apartment building? Also, take a good look at the heating and air conditioning system if you are interested in renting here and be forewarned that it works about as well as it looks. If you rent here, you can expect high utility bills for both electric and water but don't bother to ask why because all you get is "we will look into it." In fact, the below review is so far of the mark and untrue that is was probably written by one of the building managers.

  • Happy Resident going on my third year.

    July 16, 2018
First of all I have been a resident for 2 years and this is a great building. A fantastic place to live! I'm shocked and appalled that there are reviews that talk about anything other than an absolutely exemplary experience with the community and specifically the current professional staff. Betsy goes far and beyond the call of duty to make sure that each and every resident is catered to and feels like they're walking into their own private home when they arrive here at The Renaissance. ...
There's no doubt that Brad's been in the industry before and was handed a building and community that had been previously mismanaged and neglected. He works tirelessly around the clock repairing deferred maintenance and taking the community's aesthetics and market standards to the next level. Let's not forget about the above and beyond efforts of Don the Maintenance Supervisor. There's no doubt that he takes a personal and vested interest in each and every resident's home and feeling happy and proud about the place we chose to call home. The place feels like a family and a personal home. I can't thank the team here enough. When I recently had a surgery the team sent me flowers and checked in on me. I honestly could go on and on about how much I love living here and how infuriated I am with the entitled, mean spirited people writing reviews on here. I can't wait to resign my lease!!!!!

  • Hear a couple of months and already looking for next place

    May 31, 2018
Unfortunately, I didn't listen to my friends who had friends already living here. Ir was cold when I moved in but the rooftop deck looked like a great place to hangout, it was a selling point as I love to lounge outside in the summer. Unfortunately, I discovered that since the deck itself has no cover, shade or umbrellas and with recent temperatures in the 90's, it feels like the Sahara desert with humidity. Plus the furniture is old an not comfortable and not enough chairs and tables. ...
The furniture in the lobby's and community room are also old and uncomfortable which is probably why I never see any body there. The residents that I've met seem to be friendly and nice; I couldn't say the same for the office staff, when they are here that is. As noted below, the apartments are decent sized but there is not really anything that jumps out at you that makes this place more attractive than any other, other than the rent price. I love living downtown but will have to seriously consider staying here when the lease us up.

  • Get a lot of space for your money, but place is a dump compared to other downtown properties

    May 24, 2018
Also a relatively recent resident. Was told when signing up 6 months ago that there would be improvements to the rooftop deck with shaded areas, more table seating and new grills in time for summer. Well, summer is almost here and as no work has begun, I guess I should have clarified which summer she was talking about. Rental agent is very friendly when courting you but the honeymoon is pretty short once you've signed a lease. I agree with the writers below that their is nothing ...
"luxury" about this property. Management is not friendly but I understand now from other residents that Towne Properties that manages the place doesn't really care about their tenants anyway as they figure they can always just get more.

  • Disappointed New Resident

    May 6, 2018
I overlooked the review below and a previous poor experience with Towne Properties because the price seemed right and I really loved the den included in the floor plan. The management team doesn't make good on promises and the maintenance is lazy. Look at the condition of the apartment in great detail before deciding to lease here and make sure to tour the garage.
    Review from Apartments.com
  • Not much luxury here

    April 4, 2018
Been residents here for a couple of years. We have seen reduction in services that were touted to us when we first signed a lease. Example, we used to have concierge service 7 days a week in the evenings to provide security and assistance. Also, we used to be able to have packages signed for and held in a secure location. We used to have a community gathering with food and refreshments at least once every 2 months so we could meet and party with our neighbors. Twice a year this included ...
a grill. All the above plus more are gone. Yet rents and fees for parking have been raised without apartment improvements for existing tenants. The roof top deck is rundown with a shortage of chairs and tables and their is no cover for shade plus the air exchange unit that is adjacent to the deck sounds like a jet engine taking off. So loud that if you're sitting nearby you cannot have conversation. And the grills that are provided are grossly dirty and hardly work. But the management manages too spend money on new leather chairs for the office, along with new desks, sound systems for the recreation room that no one likes or use and many other purely non value added cosmetic changes. Used to be that there was a large waiting list just to get in but now vacancy in the building is at a all time high and many of the long term residents that I've talked too are planning on leaving when their lease is up.
