Do not buy in Co-op city
September 9, 2022This resident has numerous water leaks / I have a leak in my bathroom every year in the same spot. The one I have now they are unable to fix until Sunday so its been leaking for 7 Days. The leak is coming from another apt. I also had a leak in my Livingroom which went under the wood floors this cannot be fixed until November Do not invest your money here I am a 73 year old 30 year Veteran and this is how they treat meReview from Apartments.com
Uncooperative Tenants and Management
November 13, 2018I don't live in Co-op City, but my sister does. She has been complaining about her upstairs neighbors jumping, slamming, pounding, sawing, cutting, grinding, stomping, etc. all day and night. She has had two different families living in that apartment doing the same exact thing. My sister has had anxiety attacks and due to lack of sleep, her health is being affected big time. Her daughter is not doing well either. She has school and my sister has work. Neither of them can function to their utmost ...potential due to lack of sleep and stress this situation has been causing them. There have been recordings of the noise and multiple calls to the police for disturbing the peace. My sister has gone through all legal channels to get this situation amended, but to no avail. Management treats her like she is the culprit and her neighbors the victims. During hearings, she feels like all the people of the opposing party are discriminating against her and look at her with unpleasant looks. I understand that if she moves she should have to fork 3 month's rent, which is ridiculous. And, on top of that, she has to give up her equity? We would have to read the contract carefully and get lawyers involved. This situation has to be corrected for everybody's sake. My sister cannot continue to live in unsatisfying conditions in a place that she pays for and has not been late or missed any payments. I will be consulting various entities to find out what her next step should be.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Watch your Pockets
May 9, 2018Beautiful place to live but after you move out you have to renovate the apartment back two the way they sold it to you and give them 3 months rent for moving out . You have to actually paid them for leaving. Once the keys are in your hand your done . Riverbay is one of the worst companies to rent or buy from , I don not know why co op city has to vote for people who would represent us everything stay the same no changes. Do your research first before coming HERE!!!!Review from Apartments.com
Beautiful place to live but...
March 16, 2017Pros: Beautiful views. Green grass. Lots of nature. Spacious apartments with beautiful views. Nice community overall. Rent is not as inexpensive as it used to be, but still a great price compared to other areas in the 5 boroughs and out of state. Cons: Riverbay Management. Having to pay 3 months rent when you move out, which is ridiculous as people do not have that type of money. Not getting your equity back. Forget about it. Riverbay will charge you for everything and anything they can think ...of, so kiss that equity good-bye. They also play dirty, I know someone who had to appeal something and he did it all in time, but was still charged on his rent a fee for absolutely nothing. Was suppose to get it back, but never did. Riverbay Corp has long been known for corruption and stealing. Nothing has changed. We still have the people who stole our money living in our community, for that matter they were awarded 3 bedroom townhouses. Go figure! Also, beware the CSO Offices. They work for us, but will stop at nothing to harass you once they get the "anoynmous" call from a "neighbor". Even when proven innocent of all charges they will still harass you. Lots of lawsuits still pending. Also, lots of people who do not pay their rent, but yet are still residing there while the good tenants are harassed and caught with having to foot the bill.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
BEWARE!!!!!! YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY 3 MONTHS RENT WHEN YOU VACATE! AND YOU WILL HAVE TO FORK OVER YOUR EQUITY TO YOUR APARTMENT.!!!
January 4, 2017DON'T MOVE HERE! STILL TRYING TO GET BACK MY EQUITY , MOVED 8 MONTHS AGO!Review from Apartments.com
Great community
October 7, 2015The rooms are spacious , but could be a little bit bigger. Then only thing is if you lived here for awhile they won't renovate your apartment for you. You would have to make the changes yourself , and pay for it yourself.Review from Apartments.com
What a view!
August 13, 2015South, east, and west views overlooking the Hutch Bay into the LI Sound presents beautiful vistas day and night. What-A a-View!!!Review from Apartments.com
A Beautiful Place To Live
August 14, 2015Spacious rooms and a fully equipped modern kitchen. Plenty of closet and storage space. If you have a car you can find a spot near by or park in the community garages. There is a bike/jogging trail less than a block from the building. Green grass and trees line the streets and the trail, its perfect for a power walk, bike ride for the family, or a morning jog. Transportation is right outside the building. The buses are frequent, you can get anywhere in Co-op City in minutes and the subway is just ...15 minute away. The community has three shopping centers, a brand new state-of-the-art shopping plaza with restaurants, a movie theater and tons of shopping including Macy's, J.C. Penney, Target and lots more. It's a great place to live and raise a family.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
