  • No working smoke detectors

    November 1, 2024
    Smoke detectors has not been replaced since 2014 and is beeping every 10 seconds. I go to the office (as no one has answered or returned my phone calls for the past ten days) after taking time off of work to do so and give them the non working detectors, she proceeds to throw it in the trash and tells me that they do not have anymore. I ask if she can wipe off the one I bring to her so at least I have something until the figure it out. She then proceeds to go into the bathroom and rinse it off in ...
    water. SMH what am I supposed to do with that? A simple wipe of with a sanitizing wipe would have suffice. The staff here lacks plain common sense. So I hope a fire does not break out! SMH worst place ever!

    Worst staff. Worst maintenance. Don't answer. Apartments are crap . For the money they charge to rent they need to update apartments. Don't vet renters. Building smells of weed . Barking dog day and night . Hallways smell. Outside noises sound like there in the apartments. Upstairs renters stomp makes to much noise. Office don't answer DON'T care . Lease up soon already found better cheaper.

    I have lived at Sutton Place for almost 4 years. I would not recommend this complex to anyone. DO NOT expect any calls/emails/communication back from anyone. I received two final statements after move out. The first statement was giving my deposit back, i received another one a week later stating I am being charged $500 to re-glaze the bathtub when it was in poor condition when we moved in and the paint chipping is just normal wear and tear from cleaning the tub. Am i not supposed to shower or ...
    clean the tub because you glazed the tub with cheap paint? My roommate and I went without a dryer for 7 months because we couldn't get ahold of anyone to come fix it. We tried maintenance requests, emails, calling, webchats, etc. When they finally came out to fix it, they didn't actual fix it, it took them 3 other times to come out and finally just gave us a new dryer. The pool and gym have never been opened, there is trash everywhere in the front, the gate to get in has been broken more times than I can count because people just drive through them, the front door to the apartment building has been broken all 4 years. These aren't even all the issues we had. I have been trying to get in contact with someone for over a month now regarding my final statement and have not received a call back from anyone.

    This apartment is the worst. I had an apartment for over a year and they never responded on my service requests, I never had cabinet doors, heat and air did not work, electrical only worked on half the unit, had mice and the garage was dysfunctional. I spoke with the Assistant Manager 2 weeks ago to try to at least get the electricity fixed and she volunteered to let me out my lease early with no penalty. My lease was ending May 2024 and the move out day we agreed to was Feb 1 2024. I moved out ...
    and received an email stating I owe $5,500 dollars consisting on Feb rent and early termination fees. She informed me the Regional Manager is not honoring the agreement and charging me early termination and multiple other fees. The Manager, Regional Manager, and Goldier are not returning my calls to resolve this issue. I am forced to retain a lawyer for resolution. DO NOT MOVE IN THIS RAT Infested unethical place!!!!!

    I went the first time 10/22 and was able to see the apartment due to a cancellation. I had another scheduled appt 11/5 for 2pm and no one was at my scheduled appt, I arrived early and waiting from 128pm to 230pm and no one showed up so I could view the townhome. Beautiful property the first time I went the leasing agent was amazing. My only concern was that for a potential resident whose only day off is Sunday it’s important that appointments are kept

    Maintenance takes a year. Cabinets old falling apart. You hear everything neighbors are doing. Upstairs neighbors louder than fireworks. They offer nothing clean carpet , replace cabinets or broken sink. Ceiling stain from a upstairs leak they claimed would be fixed are not. Floors slope to one side of apartment . Last lease I sign. Out this hole we pay to much for come April...

    I applied here and got an approval email and submitted my security deposit payment…four days later hadn’t heard anything from them about my move-in information so I emailed asking of everything ok….no response….three more days goes by I email again….no response…I received a text saying that I would receive an email response as soon as all necessary paperwork was received…I responded asking exactly what paperwork I’d missing No response….so I called, no answer, so I used someone else’s phone to ...
    call, got an answer on the second ring, I asked about my application the lady pulled up all my paperwork and said it had been received…she then said that someone would call me back…..ten minutes later I get a text message from Sutton place saying that I would receive an email response as soon as I returned my previous landlord verification form I then responded that I already talked to another lady on the phone and she informed me that she saw all my paperwork in the system….ten minutes later my phone rings it’s Sutton place calling to tell me that my application has been rejected I asked why at first she said that my check stubs didn’t match my bank statements and I told her that’s impossible because I sent my check stubs directly from my payroll department at my job then she switched it to “oh you don’t meet the income requirements” so im trying to figure out how is it that I was qualified enough for them to approve me, accept my security deposit and give me a move in date and wait until three days before my move in date to suddenly tell me that I wasn’t qualified!!! And the way she said it was like she took great pleasure in denying me!! Very unprofessional!!!! I bought furniture and everything that I can’t get my money back from!!!!!! Not to mention I’m STILL waiting to get my security deposit money back from them!!!!

    I only gave 1 star because I had to choose at least 1 but they don’t deserve that! I’ve been here 6 mos it’s darn near impossible to get any repairs done. Maintenance is absolutely terrible! We’ve complained about them many times but all the office says is put it on the residents portal. The pool hasn’t been open all season nor has the fitness center been since I’ve been here.     DO NOT MOVE HERE! The apartment looks updated but they’re not! My energy bill is over $250 EVERY month for god knows what. I asked them to look into it for me OF COURSE I have not received a call back regarding my bill but they made sure they called me to resign my lease with a $100 increase! No compassion for anything people went through, the amenities that were not available, the service repairs that took forever to be completed if they were even ...

    If I could give this complex negative 10 stars I would. The office staff is rude and unprofessional. They hire young inexperienced men to work Maintenance, and they have no clue how to fix anything. They do not care about things needing to be fixed. Air conditioning went out ( temp was 90) and I was told to buy a fan. Heat went out ( temp was 30)and I was told “maybe maintenance will come today maybe tomorrow, I don’t know “.
